Chapter 283
We look over the cliff, eyeing the view.
“It’s so beautiful out here,” she murmured, “thank you for bringing me and um…” she avoided my eyes.
“Making you cum?” I said bluntly.
She blushed and put her face into my chest.
I chuckled.
“Babygirl, if I have my way, this isn’t the only time I’m going to give you pleasure.”
She smacked me on the chest playfully.
“Aaron, you’re incorrigible,” she scolded, half laughing.
“Babygirl, you’re the only one who’s ever made me feel this way.”
“What about Candice?” she said quietly, “Did you two have a thing?”
“No way. I’ve never even so much as felt attracted to her. She’s not my type, and I’ve fended off her advances multiple times. She just doesn’t seem to get the hint. I guess I might have to be more brutal when it comes to rejecting her,” I said darkly.
“Well, she likes you. I guess it’s understandable considering how handsome you are.”
“You think I’m handsome?” My eyes lit up.
She nodded, giggling shyly.
I sighed and looked out at the view, knowing we would have to go back.
She sensed my mood and awkwardly stood up, dusting herself off.
“We should go,” she said sadly.
The wind was picking up, and I didn’t want her to be cold.
“You’ll ride me down,” I said firmly, already standing and stripping off my clothes.
Her eyes widened, and this time she didn’t turn her back, openly ogling me.
I smirked, loving the look of appreciation on her face.
“Babygirl, you keep looking at me like that, I won’t be able to hold myself back from ravishing you right here.”
She gave a squeak as I chuckled at her.
“I was just… just….” she stumbled over her words.
She put her head in her hands.
I grinned to myself.
“I don’t mind.”
She still looked mortified.
“If it helps, you could take your clothes off too, then we would be even?” I suggested with annemers
“But Aaron, I….”
They were close now. I could hear the sound of their careful footsteps, and the smell of rotten eggs and meat grew stronger.
I gagged.
They stepped out of the shadows, eyes growing bright red, snarls on their faces.
I shifted, keeping Asher in eyesight.
Half a dozen of them.
Not great odds, but not impossible for me to take out either,
Then another two came out, making eight in total.
Fuck.
With such a large group, they never should have gone unnoticed. Somebody had betrayed us and intentionally let them in.
Whoever they were, I would find them and kill them slowly for putting Asher in danger.
I gave a roar, warning them to stay back.
Their eyes glinted in the sun, making them look even more menacing.
They were thin, malnourished, and I could already sense their hunger.
These rogues were prepared to fight to the death; and my mate was caught in the middle of a battle that should never have even happened.
