Chapter 129
She snapped her jaws at Raven. Foam dripped from her mouth. Vengeance was all she could think about. It’s what she wanted.
“Marissa, don’t do something stupid,” Raven shouted, ignoring her own nudity completely, all her movements slow and careful as though Marissa was some dumb animal she could train.
She lunged. Raven darted out of the way, pissing Marissa off further. She turned, her eyes flashing with undisguised anger as Raven watched her warily, awaiting Marissa’s next move. It was going to be a miracle if Raven survived this, considering the difference in their strength. It wouldn’t be the first time Raven had taken out a wolf though, so there was always the slim possibility she might come out the victor. A very slim chance. She should have known that Marissa would act this way when cornered like a wild animal.
“Marissa,” Raven screamed as she began to adopt another offensive position, “I’m telling you to stop before it’s too late.”
Marissa had never been one to heed others’ advice before, and she certainly wasn’t about to listen to her enemy. Raven’s pleas were useless. It was time to end this for once and for all. Marissa pawed the ground, bracing herself. Hades was starting to run towards them but Marissa wasn’t about to let that happen. For once, she was going to come out the victor, and Raven would be put in her place, finally dead and no longer the annoying pest she had \ proven herself to be. She licked her lips and grinned at Raven wickedly, her eyes beginning to shine with promise while Raven tensed, bracing herself, knowing by the time Hades reached them both, it was going to be far too late to save her.
