Rejected, Abused, I Fall for the Forbidden Alpha (by Riley Scott) novel Chapter 128

Chapter 128

Third Person POV

Fucking bitch. Slut. Whore. Marissa had already been pissed, having discovered herself lying on the bed with a wounded head and sore body. Hades had knocked her unconscious when he realized she’d drugged him and dragged her back to her room. That had rankled, but discovering the two of them in his bedroom, marked and having had sex with one another, had pushed her past what little restraint she had left. Within moments she lost control of herself and shifted, anger coursing throughout her entire body.

She attacked, sending both her and Raven through the window, shards of glass littering the grass beneath them everywhere. She wanted Raven dead. The miserable cow had taken everything from her. She had no mother, no fiancée and no home. Her world was crashing down around her, and it was because of one person. Raven. Marissa was determined to make her suffer, to kill her slowly and torture her while she screamed for mercy. To get her revenge for what Raven had done to her! She would make Raven pay, the same way Raven had made her pay!

They fall. Marissa can feel the wind through her fur, smell the grass and dirt as they directly plunge towards it, Raven’s hair billowing around her face as her arms and legs flailed. Marissa would heal from any broken bones she suffered, but Raven? Raven was virtually human. If she didn’t die from the fall, then Marissa would finish the job. She gloated, twisting her body around and landing on the ground with a heavy thud, wincing as she felt fractures in her legs which slowly began to knit together. Having a white wolf with a strong healing ability did come in handy after all. For the first time she appreciated her wolf, looking expectantly towards Raven, certain that she was about to see the little bitch die right in front of her eyes. She smirked, her lips curving into a malicious smile. Any moment now…she thought, her eyes widening, her grin growing even more.

A scream as Raven hits the ground. The balcony was several stories high. It should have been impossible for Raven to be unharmed, and yet, she sat up, clutching at her head, her body naked, and a look of bewilderment on her face.

It’s impossible, Marissa thought, stunned, her wolf already starting to walk slowly forward, tail swishing angrily, any other human would have been dead meat. How had Raven survived and with so few injuries? Even Marissa had suffered fractures, and she was a shifter! Raven must have just got lucky, she thought, but she also felt uneasy. There was something off about Raven, something different, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on it.

“Hades, don’t,” Raven shouted, “you’ll only make her angrier.”

Hades stayed still, his eyes watching Marissa’s every move. It was adorable, she thought, twisting her lips. He was so protective of Raven and yet he’d shown no sign of affection or caring towards Marissa at all. She’d been

virtually invisible to him. All she’d been was a transaction, a contract to fulfill. No matter how hard she’d tried, she hadn’t been able to break down his walls, but Raven had, she thought to herself viciously. Raven had managed to seduce Hades until he had fallen madly in love with her, while Marissa was shoved to the side as though she never existed. All her life, she’d trained to be the perfect wife, the perfect Luna and it was slipping through her fingers, and there was nothing she could do to stop it. All because Raven had slept with Hades, manipulated her way into his bed, and whispered sweet nothings to get Hades to mark her. Marissa didn’t understand what Raven had that she didn’t. It’s not like Raven was any prettier than her or as strong as her. She was a liability. Why couldn’t Hades see that? Shouldn’t he have been embarrassed to mark an anomaly? She didn’t get it
