Rejected, Abused, I Fall for the Forbidden Alpha (by Riley Scott) novel Chapter 101

Chapter 101

“Nobody did,” he snarled, “it was a secret so her reputation wouldn’t be ruined. I loved her,” his voice wobbled she was the only thing in my life I cared about and you,” he shouted, “you took her from me. You gave her to Alpha Drake of the Dark Moon Pack. A vicious, brutal bastard. It was meant to be you he took as his Luna and breeder!” he screamed. “Damnit it was meant to be you,” he slammed his hands repeatedly on the steering wheel as I swallowed hard.

He was taking the loss of MaryAnne hard. Had he loved her?

He was irrational. His feelings for MaryAnne had made him crazed. That and the loss of his two friends. I hadn’t known Hades had killed them but if they had been stupid enough to get caught it wasn’t my fucking fault.

“She got what she deserved, just like you’re going to,” I warned. “Let me go and you might still be able to survive.”

I was grasping at straws. I knew it wasn’t going to be that easy.

He snorted. “I think you should worry about yourself Raven,” he mocked, “I already planned everything out in advance.”

The car began to swerve all over the road as he struggled, clawing at me as I refused to let go. He couldn’t shift in such a confined space. The smoke had now entered the front of the limousine. He wasn’t immune. I was growing lightheaded and desperate. He suddenly went limp, falling unconscious. The limousine sped up. His foot had remained on the gas pedal. I opened the door with shaking hands, desperate to draw breath. I flung myself out of the limousine just before it hit the tree, crashing into it. I hoped he was dead but doubted it. He was a shifter. He would heal so long as his heart remained beating. I had to get out of here and I had to get out of here now. I couldn’t rely on anybody to save me. Nobody knew I was out here and even if Hades realized I was missing, he wouldn’t get here in time.

Pain flared through me. Shards of glass fell to the ground as I forced myself to stand. My ankle was swollen, bruised and sprained. I could still move it so I knew it wasn’t broken. I was covered in scrapes, scratches and bruises. I glanced at the limousine. It was not driveable now. The sedative would wear off soon enough and the man, the one I now remembered to be called Aaron would wake up soon. My only choice now was to start heading into the woods and find some way to protect myself. I hobbled, fighting back tears, gritting my teeth and wincing with every step. I needed to get as much distance away from him as I possibly could before he tracked me down using my scent. Before he found me. I refused to let myself be that easily killed. I continued onwards, unaware of where I was going or even what direction I was going. So long as I could find another raod, I stood a chance.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have as long as I hoped and shortly, he entered the forest, clad in human form, taunting me, teasing me, determined to terrify me before he tore me limb from limb.
