Steven looked at her cute expression and smiled softly.

“It’s really nice having you around,” he said.

As if driven by pure instinct, he leaned closer and gently kissed Bianca on the forehead.

Steven gave her a teasing grin.

He helped her to her feet.

She shot him a resentful look. Hmph! Idiot!

Bianca turned and walked away, but her heart was still pounding wildly.

Steven watched as Bianca returned to her room.

“Peter, you’re not joining this battle. Stay behind and recover. Leave it to us!”

Peter immediately protested. “If I don’t go, then who will?”

“I’ve already informed Steven. He’s near your house right now. Darlene, go pick him up.” Olivia said.

“Copy!” Darlene answered seriously.

Peter grew even more anxious.

“If I don’t go, how can that kid handle it alone?”

Darlene replied, “Just stay put. We’ll take care of Steven!”

Olivia nodded. “That’s the arrangement. Captain’s orders.”

Peter was so frustrated that he nearly exploded.

But there was nothing he could do. Right now, he cannot even stand for long.

Just as Darlene was about to leave, he suddenly called out.

“Wait, Darlene! Give this to Steven!”

He tossed over a silver spear.

“Tell that kid to be careful!”

“Copy that.” Nicole from the long–range assassination team still sounded cold as ice, like a distant beauty

Steven’s expression instantly changed.

A virtual screen popped up.

“Steven, beast creatures have invaded the west side of the city. Depart immediately! I’ve already sent Darlene to pick you up!”

The atmosphere around Steven instantly changed.

He rushed out of his room.

Bianca had already prepared breakfast.

Seeing how hurried he looked, she quickly asked, “What happened?”

Steven answered, “Bianca, there’s a mission. I need to head out right now.”

Her expression immediately filled with worry.

“Aren’t you going to eat something first?”

“There’s no time. Darlene is already here.”

Bianca felt deeply worried.

“I still can’t help you at all… I said I would protect you.” Her face was filled with guilt.

Steven looked at her for a moment.

Then he suddenly wrapped an arm around her waist and kissed her forehead.
