Chapter 491 A Promise to Olivia
“That was the boy’s thinking too,” Alan added:
Steven glanced at Alan and understood.
Greyson chuckled. “Heroes really do come young.”
Olivia hooked an arm through Greyson’s. “Dad, what did I tell your Steven isn’t on the level of the so- called geniuses out there. He and Bianca, that little couple, are already strong enough to cut down a Divine General.”
Greyson startled slightly at that, then nodded with a smile. “Great. Very impressive.”
They chatted a while before Olivia got to the point. “Dad, coming to see you is the main reason today, but there’s also one small thing I need your help with.”
Greyson huffed. “You little brat. I knew it. Visiting me is always a side errand.”
She made a face. “That’s not true. Seeing you is the main thing. And I’ll be staying at home for a while too.”
His face lit right up. “Now that’s better. You do have a conscience after all. Alright, tell me. What is it this time that needs me to throw his weight around?
“But let me say it up front. If this is about the trouble between this kid and the Kingstons, I’m staying out of it. He handles that himself.”
Olivia made a face. She had been planning to bring that up.
“What if the Kingstons actually got their hands on him? Would you really sit there and watch your daughter become a widow?”
Greyson’s eyes bulged. “You two…”
Alan looked uncomfortable. “Mr. Stone, no, it’s not that. I’ll handle that one myself. I already have arrangements in place.”
He had to change the subject.
A flicker of disappointment crossed Greyson’s face. “And you still haven’t…”
“Dad!” Olivia’s face flushed crimson.
Steven and Bianca both became very interested in the ceiling, pretending they were elsewhere.
Olivia pinched Greyson’s arm. “It’s something else entirely.”
She laid out the situation.
Greyson nodded. “So you need to find Ezekiel. Easy enough. I’ll take you over after this.”
Olivia brightened. “I knew it. You’re the best, Dad.”
Chapter 491 Promise to Olivia
Greyson grinned, then turned, “Alan, while we’re on it. My daughter’s been following you around for years. When are you going to make it official? i know what happened back then broke you, but she’s stuck with you for a long time.
“My daughter isn’t going to spend her whole life as a spinster. It’s not that she can’t find a husband. I like you, I do, but you can’t keep stringing hekalong. I feel for her.”
But Alan was stubborn as a post and always had been. Once he decided on something, almost nothing moved him. Greyson hated that about him. Greyson loved that about him too. Only a stubborn heart ever went anywhere on the martial path.
Steven had caught the shape of it. Alan hadn’t said he’d marry Olivia right away, but he’d given his word, and that was something. Steven was happy for them, sincerely.
Greyson stood. “No point dragging our feet. I’ll take you to Ezekiel right now and get your weapon situation handled.”
They didn’t waste another minute and headed out.
