Reborn: Apocalypse Ready. War Goddess by My Side novel Chapter 437

er 437 Six Against One

Under the combined assault of the four, the opposing Divine Knights were finally being driven back, their defenses crumbling inch by–inch.

Far across the battlefield, the seven Divine Generals locked in combat with Alan sensed their comrades falling one after another.

Shock and fury swept through them in equal measure.

How had they died so quickly?

Alan himself was already an aberration.

But where in the world had he found an entire pack of monsters to match him?

The worst part was that their own situation was hardly any better. Even with seven Divine Generals joining forces, they still couldn’t bring Alan down.

Liam’s bellow split the air, “Calix! Get over there and kill them!”

Liam and Bloodfiend erupted at the same moment, launching themselves at Alan with everything they had, determined not to give him a chance to intervene.

Yet Alan made no move to intercept.

Calix Maxwell, the level 41 Divine General, immediately broke away from the fight.

As he charged toward Steven’s group, however, he witnessed a scene so savage it made even his scalp prickle.

The six of them were slaughtering beasts while simultaneously fighting four Divine Knights.

And they were doing it with alarming ease.

They bled without flinching, wounded without faltering.

Their coordination was so seamless that they seemed less like six separate warriors and more like a single creature with 12 arms and one terrible purpose.

Two Divine Adepts focused entirely on suppression.

The two SSS–rank fighters handled the executions.

Calix watched, helpless and mesmerized, as the four Divine Knights were systematically dismantled by opponents whose levels should have made them prey.

Light erupted from Edric, illuminating the battlefield like a miniature sun.

His blade swept forward.

A Divine Knight, battle armor and all, was cleaved cleanly in half.

Bianca’s form was wreathed in flame, burning like a descending fire deity.

Flames roared skyward around her as she thrust her sword forward. Ablazing phoenix burst into existence, its wings unfurling across the sky before it speared through a Divine Knight’s throat and reduced him to blackened ash in an instant.

Steven was even more brutal.

Under the effects of Scorchblood Ignition, he relied on nothing but overwhelming physical force, smashing a Divine Knight apart where he stood.

The last survivor never even had a chance to escape. Olivia, Fiona, and Nicole descended on him in a storm of steel, carving him apart beneath a barrage of merciless strikes.

The battle was decided.

At that moment, all six of them lifted their eyes toward the approaching Calix, and what he saw in their eyes made his blood run cold. Six pairs of eyes holding the same hollow, merciless gleam.

For a split second, Calix felt as though he was facing six gods of slaughter.

Shame coiled in his gut, bitter and unwelcome. Was he really feeling fear toward a handful of Divine Knights and Divine Adepts?

He crushed the feeling beneath his heel like a cigarette butt and shouted in anger.

He was a Divine General!

How could he fear them?

“Die!”

His foot slammed into the ground.

The earth exploded beneath him as he shot forward like a canon shell.

Steven and the others answered with equally frigid eyes.

“Kill him!” Steven barked.

The six charged.

They tore straight through the swarming beasts attempting to block their path.

Steven’s wings snapped open.

He surged ahead alone. His speed was so extreme that the distance vanished in the blink of an eye.

His features twisted into a fierce snarl.

“Die!

If Peak Dragonhowl Spear sang in his hands

Nine phantoin roars rose from the steel in perfect unison.

Steven’s spear strike was unbelievably fierce.

Calix didn’t back down.

Their weapons collided, hammer against spear, and the shockwave that erupted between them was enough to flatten the surrounding grass.

Calix felt the impact travel up his arms and into his chest, and he could not suppress the flicker of astonishment that crossed his face. A Three–Sigil Divine Adept, S$S–class or not, should not have been able to anchor him in place.

Explosions of flame and light ripping across his armor, sending him staggering sideways with the taste of copper flooding his mouth.

His fury boiled over. Swinging his war hammer, he unleashed violent gusts that ripped across the battlefield.

Fiona’s voice rang out like a bell struck in winter as she summoned the power of the twosigil pattern into her blade.

And from that frozen silence a lily emerged, each petal carved from pure glacial essence, gleaming with deadly beauty before crashing down toward Calix like a judgment from winter itself.

She reappeared on Call right like a ghost made manifest, her blade gleaming with a darkness that drank the light around it.

“Windfire Skyfall!”

A cascade of flame swept across the battlefield like a tidal wave made of cinders and rage.

Three impacts landed in such rapid succession that Calix could not distinguish one blow from the next.

He retreated, one reluctant step at a time.

Bianca and Edric arrived again almost immediately, both drawing upon their sigil pattern powers.

The bombardment came in waves.

Calix was overwhelmed by the relentless assault, and fine cracks began to spread across his battle armor.

Shock and fury twisted his expression.

The problem wasn’t that he lacked the strength to retaliate. It was that these lunatics simply refused to give him the opportunity.

They fought like starving wolves with blood in their mouths, each strike arriving before the previous one had even ended..

Everything happened too fast.

“Attack them!”

He called out in frustration and sent out a sonic pulse.

The command rippled through the bestial horde. They began to hurl themselves toward Steven and the others in a frenzied tide.

Their attention was finally divided.

Calix finally had a single inhale to steady his trembling hands.

His expression curdled into something dark and venomous.

Then, from the other side of the battlefield…

Alan’s blade traced a perfect arc and bisected another Divine General into two irreconcilable halves.

Liam and the Bloodfiend howled their fury to the uncaring sky, their voices cracking with desperation as they called out for the Skyreach Serpent.

Because if this continued much longer, every one of them would die here.
