Chapter 392 A Clean Kill

It was around 1 p.m.

By then, they had already covered six miles in their search.

Steven lifted Bianca into the air and landed on a large tree.

From there, they spotted two level 3 beasts locked in combat ahead.

Blood was everywhere.

And the reason for their fight was a meteorite fragment.

The two of them moved in quietly.

Steven gave Bianca a few quick signals.

They prepared to strike.

Steven fixed his eyes on the meteorite. It was about the size of an adult’s fist.

Easily two pounds.

There was no way they could pass this up.

The two level 3 Earthsplitter Lizards were tearing into each other, flesh ripped open, blood splattering everywhere.

Steven thought to himself that the level 6 beast at Moonclear Lake must have already mobilized these beasts to search for meteorites.

Steven frowned slightly. They couldn’t afford to drag this out, or it might attract more beasts.

A cold glint flashed in his eyes.

The Firmament Wings flared.

He shot forward at a speed approaching that of a Divine King, charging straight at the two Earthsplitter Lizards mid–fight.

Bianca watched him burst forward and was stunned.

He’s so fast!

In the blink of an eye, Steven closed the distance.

He came in from above in a diving strike.

The Dragon Spear in his hand gleamed with golden light.

This had to be a one–shot kill. No wasted movement. No mistakes.

In that instant, both Earthsplitter Lizards sensed the danger.

They stopped fighting and looked up. But Steven was already upon them.

One thrust pierced straight through one of them.

Then he pivoted sharply. The Firmament Wings transformed into countless razor–sharp blades, and with a spinning slash, he sliced the other lizard’s head clean off.

It was fast, precise, and ruthless.

Not a single wasted motion.

Steven let out a breath.

Good. No problems.

Bianca rushed over.

Steven was already digging out the beast crystals.

Bianca swung her sword several times, carving out a deep pit in the ground.

The two worked in sync, burying the bodies on the spot to reduce the scent of blood.

They exchanged a quick smile.

Steven picked up the meteorite fragment.

He weighed it in his hand, a hint of satisfaction in his eyes.

Peter’s voice came through the earpiece. “Nice. This is way easier than hunting beasts.

At Moonclear Lake, inside a cave on an island at the center of the lake.

The man operating the equipment in front of him smiled. “Relax. More are on the way. We were planning to use the Beast King’s spirit fruit as bait, but then a meteorite fell from the sky. Couldn’t have worked out better.”

Bloodfiend gave a crooked smile. “Isn’t it obvious?

after them all of a sudden?

Bloodfiend shook his head. “I’m just following orders. I don’t know the real reason. Either way, we won’t be the ones acting. I just need to handle the setup. The Beast King will take care of the rest.”

Liam nodded.

Bloodfiend continued, “If I had to guess, the higher–ups want them dead to clear the way for something later. Doesn’t matter to us.”

Bloodfiend suddenly turned to look at Liam.

Only then did it become clear that half of his face was covered in crimson demonic markings, unsettling to look at.

He smiled faintly. “Looks like things didn’t go too well for you in Rowenville?

“This all that’s left of your people?”

Liam glanced at the few subordinates beside him and snorted. “Not exactly. I took out a few hundred at least. But Hugo, Lars, and Rupert are dead.

“Proteus got captured by the Rowenville military.

“Damn it. Guess I had rotten luck.”

“There’s a powerhouse in Rowenville now. At least Divine Lord level.”

Bloodfiend nodded.

“That guy, Alan… fundamentally, he’s even more dangerous than Alex. He hides it well. No way he’d only be ranked Grade A, Tier–3 otherwise. Let’s focus on this first.”

Liam said, Alan’s here too. If those two brothers run into each other, won’t that cause trouble?”

Bloodfiend chuckled. “They both want each other dead. I’d love to see them tear into each other.”

Liam furrowed his brows. “As it stands, our last mission isn’t fully complete. Alan hasn’t fallen into demonic { corruption yet. Is there a way to finish that this time?”
