Reborn: Apocalypse Ready. War Goddess by My Side novel Chapter 365

Chapter 365 Wolf Among Sheep

Nelson’s eyes cracked open, bloodshot and glassy with pain.

His voice came out weak but urgent. “Steven, get out of here. Forget about us.”

Lilliana watched the scene unfold and fell completely silent.

These were friends staring death in the face, and not one of them thought to beg for rescue first.

Something clicked behind her eyes. This was exactly what he’d told her once.

You’ll never understand what it means to have friends willing to lay down their lives for you.

People really were capable of that kind of loyalty.

Real devotion really did exist, given freely and returned in kind.

Steven’s eyes burned red watching his four friends roar at him with everything they had left.

In his past life, he’d faced a moment just like this one, and they’d told him to run then too.

They’d paid with their lives to cut him a path to survival.

In his past life, he’d run.

This time, he wasn’t running anywhere.

Abigail was going to die today. No exceptions.

Finished

Abigail leaned against the railing above, watching Steven from a distance with a gleeful, mocking smile.

“I told you I’d have you grovel to me eventually.

“Here’s your choice. Grovel right now, and I might consider letting them live.”

Steven studied that manic, twisted grin on her face and forced himself to stay calm despite the cold fury in his eyes.

“You’re going to die today.”

Abigail let out a wild, unhinged laugh. “You? Kill me?”

She raised a hand, and in an instant, at least thirty figures materialized around the warehouse.

Every single one was a Three–Sigil Divine Adept.

At least half of them were above Level 25.

Off in the distance, on the lower platform near Abigail, three more figures stood completely still.

Three Divine Knights.

Abigail herself kept a personal Divine Knight bodyguard close at her side.

Four Divine Knights, plus over thirty Divine Adepts.

A heavy weight settled in Steven’s chest.

Finished

He knew with absolute certainty that this lunatic had no intention of letting Nelson, Seamus, or any of them walk away alive.

Origin energy bombs sat hidden all around his friends, packed dense enough to end every single one of their lives in an instant.

More bombs and lethal devices lay concealed throughout the warehouse itself.

This madwoman had no intention of letting a single soul leave this building tonight.

Groveling was never an option. Today called for nothing but bloodshed.

There was no other path forward.

Abigail’s expression blazed with manic excitement.

“Not doing it, huh? Then I’ll beat you down until you do!

“My worthless brother and my pathetic father deserved better than this. Today, all of you get to join them in the grave!”

Nelson and Luke kept gasping out their warnings, voices barely above a whisper. “Run… please…”

They both understood exactly how slim their odds looked tonight.

Murderous fury exploded through Steven’s entire being.

Abigail swept her hand through the air, screaming with delight. “Beat him down! Cripple his hands and feet!”

She punctuated the order with another vicious crack of her whip across Nelson’s body.

This lunatic still wanted nothing more than to make Steven suffer through every second of this.

The next instant, all thirty plus Three–Sigil Divine Adepts surged into motion.

A cold, dangerous light flashed through his eyes.

Scorchblood Ignition!

Every single thrust carried a brutal, almost artistic violence to it.

Spear after spear tore through the crowd.

Terror gripped every fighter still standing as they watched their comrades fall in an instant.

How was anyone supposed to fight something like this?

He cut down a Three–Sigil Divine Adept as easily as wringing a chicken’s neck.

No, easier than that.

At least plucking a chicken took some effort.

None of them dared advance any further. Charging at him now was nothing short of suicide.

Up on the platform, Abigail watched the entire bloody display unfold with growing excitement.

She kept whipping Nelson and the others while she screamed with manic glee.

“Get in there! All of you, move! Useless trash, the lot of you! Use some actual weapons for once!”

She let out another wild laugh.

“Steven! Why don’t you just become my personal slave instead? I might consider letting your little friends live.”

Steven’s expression stayed cold and merciless as he muttered a single word back at her. Lunatic.

None of her men dared step forward, and Steven had no intention of giving them another opening.

He moved like a blur of fire and shadow, swift as the wind itself.

Every single person he passed shattered apart in his wake.
