Steven nodded. “Those two rewards alone are already tempting enough.”

Bianca asked curiously, “What’s the highest–level combat art in Rowenville?”

Frank laughed. “Level 5. We don’t even have any Level 6 combat arts here. Now imagine how attractive a Level 7 combat art is.”

Bianca looked puzzled. “Then how does a Level 7 combat art compare to a forbidden technique?”

Steven was curious too. He had wondered about that himself.

Frank paused.

“What made you ask that?”

“Just curious,” Bianca replied.

Frank said, “Forbidden techniques and combat arts are actually two different things. You can’t compare them directly. Most forbidden techniques are incredibly powerful. Even a weaker one is probably around the level of a Level 6 or Level 7 combat art, though I’m not completely sure.

“But forbidden techniques are more than just attacks. More importantly, they strengthen the user themselves. That’s what truly matters, and that’s why they’re hard to compare.

“A forbidden technique grows along with the Awakened’s strength. You could say it has no limit.”

The two nodded. They more or less understood.

Frank changed the subject. “Enough about that. Steven, Bianca, what do you think? Can you join the tournament?”

Bianca looked at Steven.

Steven thought for a moment.

In his previous life, Bianca had joined the Awakened Tournament too.

Participating would be a worthwhile experience, even if they didn’t achieve a ranking. Fighting talented Awakened from all the cities under Orroux’s control was an opportunity that didn’t come often.

And what if they did place?

The rewards were excellent.

Steven looked at Frank.

“Frank, we’ll probably have to ask our captain first. Ashen may be leaving Rowenville soon.”

“Huh? Leaving already?”

“You’re leaving too?”

Steven nodded. “You always have to keep moving upward. Bianca is leaving too.”

Frank’s eyes widened. “Both of you are leaving?”

Steven and Bianca nodded.

“Bianca is joining Ashen as well.”

Frank sighed inwardly. “I guess I can’t stop you. Once you reach Three–Sigil, the academy no longer has any say in where you go. I just didn’t expect it to happen this quickly.”

Steven smiled. “We’ll never forget what the academy has done for us. This place is our home.”

Steven waited for night to come. He was waiting for the Reads and all those rats to make their move. Then he would wipe them all out in one sweep.

He was just about to visit the dorms and see his roommates when his Starlink buzzed.

He glanced at the message.

His brows furrowed.

Autumn… again? She had been contacting me far too often.

That probably meant Elliot hadn’t sent Landon after all. Could it have been Abigail?

“Bianca, look at this. She really won’t leave me alone.”

Bianca leaned over and looked at the message.

It was from Autumn. She wanted to meet Steven.

Bianca smiled and asked, “So, how are you going to deal with her?”

Steven shook his head. “I don’t want to waste any more time on her.”

Bianca nodded. “Then, how about this?”

The two discussed something quietly. A look of surprise appeared in Steven’s eyes. Bianca’s idea was interesting.

She quietly left.

Steven replied to Autumn’s message and arranged to meet her in a secluded patch of woods.

He truly had no interest in wasting any more time on either her or Elliot.
