Chapter 331 Let Me Choose My Own Life

“When you came to see me, I already knew this might happen. That’s why I left the choice to you.”
Alan pulled up the agreement on the screen.
“This is the permanent binding agreement you signed. I haven’t submitted it yet. This is your choice. No one can decide for you. You have to judge for yourself.”
The moment he saw it, Jameson looked relieved.
“Don’t send it!”
He tried to stop him.
But in the next second, Alan’s power exploded too.
He pushed back against the crushing pressure coming from Jameson.
Fiona looked at the father who suddenly felt like a stranger.
Her eyes became firm.
“Dad, this is my choice.”
“If you press that button, I will disown you!” Jameson roared, his eyes bloodshot.
Tears filled Fiona’s eyes. “Dad, let me live for myself just once.”
Jameson was staring furiously. He had leaned forward to stop his daughter, but he was too late.
He could only watch as Fiona pressed the button decisively.
The agreement was sent to the Department.
Her identity was now officially marked.
“You ungrateful child!” Jameson exploded with rage.
He struck out with his palm, and a terrifying force slammed into Alan.
Boom!
Alan was blasted backward.
“Captain!”
“Captain!”
Everyone’s face turned pale and screamed in horror.
Alan quickly steadied himself and charged back. A trace of blood hung at the corner of his mouth.

His team were now enraged.
Then Fiona rushed in front of him and faced Jameson.
She bowed before him.
“Dad, please let me make my own choice.”
His beloved daughter was begging him.
Jameson fell silent.
He suddenly looked really old.
He looked at Fiona. He felt like he had lost the most important thing in his life.
The situation turned into a stalemate.
After a long silence, he finally spoke, his voice low and hoarse.
“This is your choice. Fine, Fiona. From this day on, I don’t have a daughter.

“When the day comes that your teammates start falling one by one right in front of you, don’t regret it.”
His eyes were red.
Only he knew how much it hurt. He had paved the road for her. All she had to do was walk down it safely. Why couldn’t she accept it?
Just because she wanted to “live for herself“?
“I’m not trying to prove that you were wrong. I just want to prove, for once, that I was right. I can take responsibility for my life.”

Alan replied coldly, “There are no special privileges with me.”
The man snorted.
“You’re wasting your time. How are you supposed to beat him like this? With these weaklings? You’ve really disappointed me.”
Alan’s eyes turned icy.
“If you can’t keep your mouth shut, I can help you with that.”
The man in the black suit met his gaze for a moment, then turned and left.
Listening to their conversation, Steven became curious. There was definitely a story here.
Could it be the thing Peter and Darlene mentioned before? What was the goal that Peter and Darlene wanted to help Alan achieve?
As they watched the group leave, Alan remained calm.
Fiona sat there in a daze.
She had never wanted things to turn out like this.
She only wanted one chance to live for herself.
Alan said flatly, “Since you’ve made your vow, then prove it. Show him that you can still shine on this path. Don’t let your words become empty talk.”
Fiona looked at him.
She wiped away her tears hard. Her cool, red–rimmed eyes were filled with determination.

“I’ll do it.”

Alan didn’t respond. He simply said, “You have one year to make the rankings. You’ve already made your promises, so get yourselves together. Within one year, every one of you will fight your way onto the rankings.”
