Chapter 165 Trusting Each Other’s Backs
Two people were already standing there.-
“You can head down now. The captain’s waiting for you.”
Steven nodded, confused./
While still high in the air, he jumped straight down.
Fiona stood beside Alan.
The two of them had been waiting for a while now.
When Fiona heard they were waiting for a teammate, she found it strange. That teammate showed up late, and the captain did not even care?
“Captain, didn’t you say I could become a Blooddrinker?” Fiona asked coldly.
Alan’s face stayed expressionless.
“Blooddrinker? With your current combat instincts, you’d just be rushing to your death.”
“Oh…” Fiona answered softly, sounding a little wronged.
Alan continued, “If you can learn even half of his combat instincts, I’ll let you become a Blooddrinker.”
Fiona was unconvinced.
“Fine!” she said stubbornly.
She doubted the team member was that amazing. At most, probably just a Three–Sigil Divine Adept.
The next second, a figure in combat armor crashed down from above them.
Boom! The ground cracked under the impact.
Steven landed right in front of them.
“Peter, I look pretty cool, right?”
“Cool my foot, you idiot.”
Steven laughed and looked up.
And the moment he raised his head, both of them were frozen.
Their eyes met.
Steven cursed, “What the heck?!”
Fiona snapped, “You jerk! Why is it you?!”

Steven was completely stunned.
He turned toward Alan.
“Captain! Why is this spoiled rich girl here?”
Fiona snorted coldly.
“You’re the spoiled one! I told you before, don’t ever fall into my hands again! This isn’t the academy anymore. Let’s see how you run now!”
A wave of icy energy burst from her body.
The two looked ready to fight immediately. The other teammates listening through their earpieces were already shocked by the conversation.
Alan spoke coldly. “If either of you starts fighting, you can get lost.”
Fiona’s body stiffened instantly.
The frost around her faded away.
But Fiona’s shock was far greater than everyone else’s.
“He’s also a member of Ashen?” Fiona asked in disbelief.
This annoying guy was the person the captain wanted her to learn from?
A One–Sigil Awakened?
Alan stayed expressionless and looked toward Steven.
“Steven, Uriah, Caleb. Activate the Divine Barrier.”
“Roger!”
‘Got it!”
“Yes, captain!” Steven answered quickly. He pulled a barrier stake from his back.

Alan said coldly. “Listen up. Ashen has a new teammate now. Her name is Fiona. Level 22, Three–Sigil Divine Adept. Ice–type Divine Sigil.”
“Steven!!” Fiona was so angry her chest rose and fell rapidly.
Steven waved his hand. “Alright, alright. Forget it. We’re teammates now. I’m too tired to argue with you
Then he looked at Alan. “Captain, her combat instincts are pretty rough right now. You should keep her with you.”
Fiona glared at him. “Say that again!?”
Alan interrupted coldly. “That’s enough. Shut up, both of you.”
The two instantly behaved. Neither dared to say another word.
Alan turned toward Steven.
“Steven, from now on, you’ll train her. Once her combat instincts reach even half of yours, she can become a Blooddrinker.”

“What?! Me train her?!”
“He’s training me? Is he even qualified?” Fiona snapped back.
Steven almost started stuttering.
“C–Captain, how am I supposed to train her? She’s spoiled. I can barely keep myself in line.”
Fiona got even angrier.
“Did you just look down on me? I don’t think much of you either! Captain, I want a different position!”
Alan looked at both of them coldly.
“Did I ask either of you to make a choice?”
The two instantly fell silent again. They could both feel the pressure coming from Alan.
Alan gave a cold snort. “Remember this. You are teammates, I don’t care what history you have with each other. The battle is about to begin. A teammate is someone you can trust with your back. Guard your barrier stakes well.”
