Chapter 122 Her Lesson
Finished
A figure of striking, uninous beauty drew every set of eyes in the vicinity without even trying.
Students passing by in both directions stopped short when they saw her, a ripple of quiet admiration moving through the crowd like wind through tall grass.
But most of them only needed one look to know exactly who she was.
She was the new student beauty, Lilliana.
She was an S–rank Awakened.
Nobody with any sense of self–preservation would try talking to her.
Everyone simply lingered at a respectful distance and stole as many glances as they could justify.
A good number of people started quietly speculating about why an S–rank like Lilliana was standing at the entrance to the building.
She was waiting for someone.
She had to be waiting for someone.
But who in the world has that kind of fortune?
Who could possibly make the new student beauty come and wait for them personally?
The envy alone was enough to be genuinely painful/
A portion of the crowd decided to stick around and find out.
Lilliana stood at the entrance with her gaze fixed on the distance, registering no one around her.
She looked like an untouched white bloom in an otherwise ordinary field.
She was there for one thing.
She wanted the truth. She needed to know what Steven was hiding.
Some deep–rooted instinct told her that if she walked away without getting that answer, she’d spend the rest of her life carrying the weight of not knowing.
Bianca let him close because she knows his secret.
Steven is absolutely not as simple as he looks.
Cutting down a level 2 beast before even awakening a Divine Sigil is something that had never happened in the entire history of Draconia.
She was there to bet on the truth.

It wasn’t long before Steven and his friends came into view, walking over together.
Seamus spotted the situation first.
“Hey, why is there such a crowd at the entrance?”
He rubbed his eyes and squinted at the figure standing at the center of all that attention.
“Oh wow! She’s gorgeous!”
His eyes lit up like two small fires, burning with immediate, unrestrained enthusiasm.
As the four of them drew closer, the other three went very still.
“No way! That’s Lilliana! The new campus belle!”
Seamus practically vibrated with excitement. “She’s not here waiting for me, is she?”
Steven glanced up and met Lilliana’s eyes across the distance.
Lilliana moved.
“She’s moving! Who is she waiting for?”
Every male student heading in the same direction surged with hope.
Firstined
With the full weight of everyone’s attention pressing down on the moment, Lilliana walked directly to Steven and stopped in front of him.
She looked at him with an expression that carried several things at once.
“I need to talk to you,” she said.
The three friends were completely stunned.
“You said you barely knew her. What the hell is this?”
The three of them were struck completely speechless.
The new student beauty, Lilliana, came specifically for Steven.
Barely knew her? Not even close to believable.
What is their relationship?
She actually came to wait for him herself?
There’s a whole story here.
What kind of attitude is that?
The school beauty comes to see him personally and that’s what he gives her?
He’s turning her down? Who does he think he is?
Can we rip him to shreds?
“It’ll be just a moment!”
Her gaze was steady and utterly immovable.
Steven went quiet for a beat, then turned to look at Seamus and the others.
“Head in without me. Let Ms. Franklin know I’ll be there shortly.”
“Oh… yeah… sure…”
The three of them nodded in a daze.

Fintobed
Luke and Chad hauled a completely paralyzed Seamus through the entrance.
Lilliana swept a cool glance across the surrounding crowd, and the frost in her eyes sent everyone scattering without her needing to say a single word.
She looked at Steven.
“Can we talk somewhere less crowded?”
Steven turned and walked.
Lilliana followed.
The two of them moved one behind the other, and to every observer watching, they looked exactly like a couple taking a deliberately casual, deliberately secretive stroll.
Seamus and the other two plastered themselves against the entrance doorway, craning their necks to watch.
Luke frowned thoughtfully. “You don’t think his girlfriend is actually her, do you?”
Chad shook his head. “Absolutely not. He was grinning to himself all last night, and his whole manner toward Lilliana is clearly off. Something’s different. It’s definitely not her.
“Besides, she’s S–rank. It doesn’t add up.”
Seamus’s eyes narrowed with the deep, wounded indignation of someone who felt personally betrayed. “Steven is not being straight with us. He clearly knows her well, and he stood there and told us he barely knows her. He’s been holding out on us this whole time.”
