Chapter 116 Fiona’s Temporary Assignment

Frank smiled and nodded before looking at Atwater Padilla.

“You wanted to see me, Mr. Padilla?”

Atwater nodded with a smile. “Sit down. There’s something I’d like your help with.”

“You’re too polite, sir. Just tell me what you

need.”

Atwater had once been one of the top figures in the Military Command, After retiring, he returned to his hometown of Rowenville and became the director of the Awakened Academy.

He was highly respected and incredibly powerful.

Atwater smiled. “This is more of a personal favor than official business.”

“Oh? Go ahead.”

“Fiona wants to spend some time training with an Awakened Squad. After thinking it over, I decided sending her to another city wouldn’t be ideal. There’d be nobody there to look after her, so I thought it would be better to keep her in Rowenville.

“The strongest squad here is Ashen. They aren’t on the national squad rankings, but they’re still very capable.

“And with Alan leading the team, the fact they aren’t ranked also means their missions usually aren’t that dangerous. So right now, Ashen seems like the best choice.”

Frank’s eyes

widened.

“Fiona, you’re joining Ashen?!”

Fiona gave a cool nod. “Only temporarily. I’m not becoming an official member.”

Atwater chuckled.

“She could also train with the Military Command, but you know how things are, She’s Still upset with her

father and doesn’t want to go there.

“And if she did go, everyone would take special care of her. That defeats the whole

purpose of training.

“So I wanted to ask if you could speak to Alan for us. Aren’t you pretty close with him?”

Frank let out a bitter smile. “Mr. Padilla, you could just let him know yourself.”

He knew Alan hated this kind of thing. Plenty of people had tried to send their kids to Alan’s squad for training before.

Alan had rejected every single one of them. No matter whose favor it was, he never cared.

Frank had a feeling Atwater already expected this outcome and purposely pushed the job onto him.

Atwater laughed. “If I ask personally and he refuses, that would put everyone in an awkward spot. I can’t exactly force him.

“But you and Alan get along well. If you ask, it’s simply asking for his opinion. If he agrees, great. If not, we’ll think of another way.”

Frank sighed and nodded.

That actually made sense.

“I understand. I’ll ask him about it. Honestly, it’s probably better if I go in person.”

Atwater nodded. “In that case, take Fiona with you. She can show him her strength directly. Alan will probably agree.”

Frank nodded. “Alright. I’ll message him now. If possible, we’ll head over right away.”

Atwater agreed with the arrangement.

The academy couldn’t let classroom lessons take up all the students‘ time. They also needed time to evolve their powers and train their other abilities.

Vita and Lilliana were roommates.

The two girls walked back to the dorm together.

Vita smiled.

“Lilliana, I’m seriously jealous of you. You’re so pretty. Every day there are guys trying to meet you.

“A lot of people already think you’re going to replace Fiona as the new campus belle.”

A small smile appeared on Lilliana’s face.

Ever since her Divine Awakening, she had stopped acting like the cold, untouchable beauty she used to pretend to be.

Now, she smiled a little more often.

Her family had told her clearly that S–Class was filled with people with incredible potential. In the future, her classmates would become major figures in Rowenville, the Military Command, or maybe even the Celestial Army.

Making more friends would only benefit her.

She smiled lightly. “There’s nothing to envy. I’m jealous of people with SS–rank Divine Sigils. All I have is a pretty face.”

Vita laughed softly.

“I’m still jealous. If I looked as good as you, I’d probably never turn down a cute guy.”

Lilliana could only smile helplessly.

Vita hesitated for a moment before finally speaking.

“Lilliana, can I ask you something?”

“Sure.”

Vita asked awkwardly, “Don’t get mad. I’m just curious.”
