Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 663

Silas suggested, "Little Star, why don't you bring some guys from the martial arts school to help out? We can't let those obnoxious people ruin your wedding."

It was his apprentice's big day; there was no way he'd let that family sabotage it.

Stella reassured him, "It's fine, Silas. I'll mention it to Julius. There will be plenty of security guards maintaining order that day.

If the Hawthornes dare to show up, I'll have the guards gag them, tie them up, and lock them away until the wedding is over. Does that make you feel better?"

"As long as you know what you're doing. If the guards can't stop him and he actually tries to cause a scene, I wouldn't mind taking care of him for you."

Stella laughed. "Alright, alright. If he really has a death wish that day, I'll leave him entirely in your hands."

"Using physical force on a wedding day is so crude. It might scare the guests. Alistair should just spike his drink so he can't cause any trouble."

"Why resort to something as underhanded as drugging them? I'll just go set up an array at his house so none of them can even step out the door. Wouldn't that be much easier?"

"What are you talking about? Desperate times call for desperate measures. How is that underhanded? Do you want to see that scumbag ruin her wedding?"

"I didn't say that! I just meant..."

"Let's just do this, we..."

The old men bickered loudly, each convinced their own idea was the best.

Watching them, Stella felt a profound warmth in her chest.

They were such adorable old men.

Once they were red in the face from arguing, Stella timed her interruption perfectly.

"Gabriel, there's something I don't quite understand and I need to ask you about it."

The old men instantly quieted down.
