No Second Baby No You Only Divorce (Scarlett and Vincent) novel Chapter 775

Before he could finish his sentence, Scarlett cut him off mid-speech. "If you do, then listen to me. No matter what happens, I'm staying with you."

Nolan softened at her unwavering resolve and gave a quiet nod. "Alright."

A small smile tugged at Scarlett's lips. "I'm heading over to get my blood drawn then."

She'd barely turned toward the door when the hospital room's entrance swung open from the hallway.

Damian stepped inside, his tailored trench coat hanging unbuttoned, its hem flaring sharply behind his stride. Tall, sharply featured with rugged, handsome bone structure, his face held no hint of warmth as his gaze locked rigidly onto Scarlett.

Without a single word of greeting, he bent forward, hauled Scarlett up, and tossed her over one shoulder.

Scarlett let out a startled gasp. "Damian! What on earth are you doing? Put me down right now!"

Unfazed by Nolan's presence in the room, Damian delivered a light, chastising tap to her butt with his palm, his tone lazy and teasing. "Dressed so lightly. Not worried about catching a chill today?"

As he spoke, he slipped one free hand out from his coat sleeve and wrapped the fabric tightly around her to pin her securely against his shoulder.

Scarlett wriggled furiously to break free, but trapped within the folds of his overcoat, her struggles proved futile. "Quit messing around, Damian. I've got important business to discuss with Nolan."

Damian scoffed skeptically, "Important business? What exactly would that be?"

Bitter jealousy had pooled thick in his chest, burning hot from his core straight up to his temples.

Scarlett dug her fingers into his back, voice sharp with irritation. "Let me down this instant."

He bore the pinch without flinching, forcing a casual, unhurt demeanor and staying silent no matter how hard she fought, until Scarlett finally gave up struggling.

Nolan's fingers curled tight into his palms, watching Scarlett get carried away, yet his current poor health left him powerless to intervene.

Damian grinned openly toward Nolan while still holding Scarlett over his shoulder. "Mr. Huntley, it's not that I'm keeping her from keeping you company. Nathan's been blowing up my phone demanding I bring her home immediately. If I drag my feet any longer, he'll hunt me down to chew me out. I hope you understand."

Though his lips were curved into a smile, every syllable dripped with unmissable provocation.

Nolan's face didn't change. He only looked at Damian and said, "In that case, Mr. Langley, please make certain she arrives home safely."

She slumped fully against his chest. His arm wrapped snugly around her narrow waist and pulled her flush against his frame.

At the same time, his other hand slipped beneath the hem of her top, gliding upward slowly until his palm settled over the fabric of her camisole.

A faint shiver ran down Scarlett's spine, either from the cold stairwell air or his unexpected touch.

Damian never pulled away from her lips, deepening the kiss as his tongue slipped past her parted lips to meet hers.

Overwhelmed by the warm, intoxicating pull of his affection, Scarlett let out a soft, muffled whimper. "Mm..."

The quiet sound stoked Damian's frenzy further. His eyes darkened with lust, and he pulled his mouth from hers to trail open-mouthed kisses down her neck toward the curve of her chest.

The buttons on her blouse popped loose, letting cold air brush her skin, while his touch sent electric sparks racing across every inch of her torso. Scarlett tipped her head backward instinctively and tangled her fingers in his hair.

Mindful of their public spot inside the stairwell, Damian reined in his impulses eventually. He slowly pulled away from her, then carefully fastened her shirt buttons back into place to fix her disheveled clothing.
