Grace was a little angry. "They sure are shameless. All they ever do is talk about how they'll make it up to you.
"They never spent a single cent from their own pockets while they kept forcing you to go home for dinner with them. Do they think it's enough to make amends?"
Noelle smiled. "It's fine. Don't be mad. I've long known what kind of people they are like."
She would not take it even if her brothers offered her financial compensation. She just wanted to cut ties with them. If possible, she wanted to cut all ties forever.
As Noelle was getting ready to head back to the Liddell residence, she got a call from Cedric.
Cedric's voice was hoarse and fatigued. She could tell that he had been very busy and, as a result, very tired.
She answered the call. "Hello? Who's this?"
"It's me," Cedric replied.
She deliberately played with him. "Who are you?"
He chuckled. "Your boyfriend."
"Oh, so it's my boyfriend. I thought you disappeared after you didn't reply to me at all yesterday."
"I was busy yesterday. There was an international conference last night."
Noelle felt pity for him and softened her tone. "Now that you're done with work, eat something and take a break, alright?"
"Yeah, I will. How's your day?" Cedric asked.
"I went to classes and then studied for finals. I have a reputation as a top student, after all. It'd be so embarrassing if I failed my finals." Noelle was still holding onto the phone as she continued, "You should get some rest now."
"You're not mad?" Cedric asked.
Barnaby explained, "I heard that someone from the Parhams had come to do a paternity test with the baby. They originally intended to just prove that they had no relations with the baby, but it turned out that the child really belongs to the Parhams."
Noelle was shocked by the news. "So the child really is Justin's?!"
She could not help but feel a little emotional. If Xenia did not die during childbirth, she might just have been able to live a good life thanks to the child.
But unfortunately, Xenia was gone.
Barnaby continued, "The Parhams suspected us of tampering with the paternity test when they first saw the results. They then personally took some new samples to redo the test. The results will be coming out today."
Before Noelle could say anything, she saw some of the Liddells walking in through the door.
She could not believe that they arrived home later than she did.
Noelle looked at Frank and asked, "What was the result of the paternity test?"
