No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 1117

Noelle suspected that Xenia's mother would hold, at the very least, an executive position within PZ Group and that she would know of or even take part in the scam. Given the case, it only made sense that she had been keeping a low profile and never showed up in person.

Firstly, her plans would fail if she appeared in person, thus forcing her to operate only from the shadows.

Secondly, it was because PZ Group's scam was still in progress and had not yet reeled in the net. Revealing her identity now would expose the entire scam.

Noelle slowly became convinced that her analysis was correct. She realized that she had to approach Xenia's mother from various angles.

Noelle then turned to Mia. "Mia, if you believe me, you should get in contact with a lawyer and figure out how to withdraw all your investments right away. It's fine even if you lose some of it for breaching the contract."

"Got it. Of course, I trust you, Noelle. If it weren't for Aunt Salena having already signed the one-year investment contract with PZ Group, I would've taken out all of the money a long time ago," Mia replied.

Mia herself did not know much about investing. She usually let a professional manager handle it, and she never specifically looked for high-return investments.

With the amount of money left behind by her father, she would never run out of it so long as she did not do anything reckless with it.

Noelle smiled. "Alright. I can come with you to negotiate with PZ Group if you want."

"Okay. I'll get in contact with a lawyer first while I think about what to do."

Mia immediately sprung into action. She called her family's lawyer and talked about her intention to cancel the investment contract with PZ Group.

After hearing her out, the lawyer replied, "Ms. Cantrell, didn't you already talk about this back then?

"The contract was just for a single year, and it's already been quite some time since it was signed. It'll mature by next year, so why go through all this trouble to cancel it now?"

"Well, that was back then. Now I need the money for something else. I don't want all of my money locked down in a contract."

"But according to the agreement with PZ Group, a sudden breach of contract without cause will incur a penalty. You'd be losing 50 million dollars. Is that really worth it?"

Mia frowned after hearing the lawyer trying to dissuade her. "I don't care about that. Just figure out something for me."

Ivy nodded. "You're right. Our plan's about to come to fruition very soon. Let's just wait a little longer."

Once everything was settled, she would no longer have to worry about Noelle or Cedric ever again. Ivy picked up a photo of Noelle and forcefully drew a big red X over it while thinking, "The game isn't over yet, young lady."

Noelle attended her classes as usual while media reporters continued to lurk outside of her campus. She saw various articles online that questioned her qualifications as chief engineer, but she did not respond to any of them.

Noelle decided to just let them continue spreading rumors about her as long as they wanted, for it would help make the truth hit even harder once it was finally revealed.

As Noelle headed to the classroom building, two people suddenly rushed over and thrust a microphone at her. "Ms. Liddell, do you have anything to say regarding online speculations claiming that you only acquired your role as chief engineer because of Cedric?"

"Ms. Liddell, are the faulty prosthetics proof of your incompetence?"
