Wyatt strode forward and saw a familiar face. It was the lawyer he'd seen in court, Ethan Carter, who was sent by Xenia's mom.
His expression was cold as he questioned, "What are you doing here?"
Ethan's expression changed drastically when he saw Wyatt. He clearly hadn't expected the Liddells to show up instead of Noelle.
Though surprised, he quickly masked his reaction and regained his composure. "I'm acting on behalf of my client, here to handle burial procedures for Ms. Xenia Quigley."
Wyatt clenched his jaw and snarled, "Where's her body? She tricked me for so long, and now she wants to be buried here? What a joke."
"The body has been cremated, Mr. Wyatt. We purchased the grave, so you have no authority to interfere."
Wyatt stepped forward and grabbed Ethan by the collar. "Test me. Let's see what I can do."
Frank added, "We're in Aldoria. There's nothing the Liddell family can't do here."
"Aren't you worried about this getting out?"
"Our reputation's already in the gutter, and we don't mind one more scandal. No matter what, we won't let her get her way."
Blake narrowed his eyes at Ethan and said, "Is your client just capable of sending you out here? Is that all she's got? What a shame you're just some useless lapdog."
That remark struck Ethan's nerve, and he seethed. "I can sue you for defamation!"
"Go ahead. Since you're planning to sue anyway, I should add something to give you more to sue over!"
With that, Blake turned to the bodyguards and instructed, "Do it. Take the urn."
"What do you think you're doing?"
"Your client wants Xenia buried here to disgust us, right? Well, let's just scatter her ashes right on our parents' tombstone.
"That way, she's technically at rest in the graveyard, and you save on burial fees, too. Isn't that a good idea?"
Frank looked at her uneasily. "We've got this, Noelle. You don't have to get involved. Whatever that woman's plan is, it has nothing to do with you."
Naturally, they would never allow her to hurt Noelle either. Noelle replied flatly. "But you showing up here is no different than if I'd come myself."
To the public, the Liddells' actions would inevitably be tied to her. There was no escaping responsibility. She turned back to Ethan.
"So, you're not going to talk?"
Ethan wore an emotionless expression as he replied, "I'm here on behalf of my client to carry out Ms. Quigley's burial. You have no legal right to stop me, and seizing someone else's remains is a criminal offense. We will take legal action."
"Who cares? You go ahead and sue while we do what we want."
At that moment, Wyatt stepped forward. "That's right. Give me the urn. I'll scatter the ashes myself."
His heart brimmed with rage. After all, he'd waited so long for this moment, and now, he wanted nothing more than to grind Xenia's ashes into dust.
