No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 1078

The very least Frank planned to do was to prepare a better burial site for Xenia. It would not count as breaking the agreement he had with Sean.

Sean was still reluctant. Noelle then looked at him and said, "Are you in such a hurry to see Xenia because you're hiding something from us?"

Sean calmed himself down in an instant. "Of course not. I'm just worried about her, that's all. I'm worried that you folks might mistreat her because she's not pregnant with a member of the Liddells."

Noelle looked at him with a look of mockery. "Do you seriously think that we want her to bear a child for our family?

"The fact that the child isn't part of my family is the best possible outcome. If anything, we should be thanking Xenia instead."

Sean picked up on the sarcasm in her reply. He then replied, "Xenia was raised by the Liddells.

"She turned out like this because there was something wrong with how she was brought up. You Liddells should bear some of the responsibility."

Frank was shocked and enraged by Sean's explanation. "Do you think that we've not treated Xenia well enough?! We treated her so well that we even neglected Noelle!"

Noelle then looked at Sean with a half-smile. "Are you pretending not to know anything about Xenia's upbringing? You must've at least asked around about how Xenia was doing living with the Liddell family over the years, no?"

With that, Sean immediately fell silent with a guilty expression.

He already knew about what kind of life Xenia was living while she stayed with the Liddells. It was exactly why he never tried to look for her.

Frank then said, "Our original agreement still stands so long as you cooperate with us."

Only then did Sean stop pressing down on the matter. "I hope that you'll keep your word."

Noelle then stepped outside and saw Samantha kneeling in front of Emma while sobbing and pleading about something.

At that point, Ruth's fate was already sealed, and nothing could change that.

Noelle walked over and looked at Samantha. "You won't be able to change the outcome of the trial even if you jumped out of this building right now."

Emma patted Noelle's hand and replied, "Yes, it's all finally coming to an end."

Just then, Jeremy approached them with a troubled expression. He looked at Noelle and said, "I have bad news."

Noelle's heart tightened up instantly. "What is it?"

"News about Xenia's death has been leaked."

Noelle's expression shifted in an instant. "How is that possible? We've already made all the necessary arrangements last night. There shouldn't be any leaks, at least until the verdict is announced."

She then pulled out her phone and saw all the news reports about Xenia's death. The articles claimed that the Liddells had deliberately claimed that Xenia's child was not Wyatt's in order to give Ruth the death penalty and had even killed Xenia during the process.

Noelle instinctively turned to look at the rest of the Liddells standing not far away after reading all the absurd articles. She was thoroughly enraged. "Why must you always drag me down?!"
