No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 1074

Donovan shook his head and said, "Frank, I think you've lost your mind. Noelle doesn't even appreciate us at all."

He did not want to stay around the hospital any longer and left in a gloomy mood.

Frank then instructed the nurse: "Keep the body in the morgue for now. I'll arrange for someone to handle the formalities later."

The hospital kept a tight seal on the news about Xenia's death. As for Xenia's funeral, the Liddells decided to hire someone to deal with it later.

The paparazzi would not catch wind of the news that way. Lucas took a look at the hospital and said, "Let's hope Xenia's death doesn't bring any more trouble to our family."

He still hated Xenia a lot, but he also hated himself for being deceived by her. Frank patted Lucas on the shoulder and said, "We'll take it one step at a time."

The next day, the trial had finally begun. Noelle walked into the courthouse with Jeremy while holding a cup of coffee in her hand.

They had arrived so early that not even a single paparazzi had yet to show up.

Jeremy handed Noelle a bag and said, "This is the best breakfast you can get near the courthouse. It's my treat."

Noelle took a small bun from the bag and bit into it before revealing a look of surprise. "It's really good!"

Jeremy was delighted. "It's good, isn't it? Don't you ever get tired of L Bistro after eating there for so long? The best food is often found in back alleys."

"I didn't expect for someone as professional as you to actually be so down-to-earth, Mr. Sulton."

Noelle had initially thought that Jeremy was the type of man who was refined and picky with his tastes. She did not expect him to be so incredibly grounded when it came to his taste in food.

Jeremy smiled and said, "Life gets boring if you're too successful. Doing something down-to-earth helps revitalize yourself with meaning and purpose."

Noelle was momentarily dazed by his smile. She then chuckled and replied, "You make a good point."

Noelle could see the determination within Emma's eyes. It was clear that Emma had already made up her mind. It was a very important day for her as well.

Carl walked over and glanced at Emma. "Thank you for coming, Mrs. Greene. If you feel unwell, please don't hesitate to notify me for help."

Cedric then replied, "We've brought a team of doctors with us."

Carl scoffed and said, "They're useless."

Cedric remained silent while Noelle quickly took Emma by the arm. "Let's go, Mrs. Greene."

After heading inside, they saw that Laura and Samantha were already present. When Laura saw Noelle holding onto Emma's arm, a hint of resentment flashed across her eyes.

She looked at Noelle coldly and said, "I believe you said that you weren't trying to marry into the Greene family, no?"
