My Stepbrother's Dirty Little Secret novel Chapter 595

Chapter 595

Adriano slowly lifted his boot, letting the blood drip off the leather onto the concrete as his stare swept across the rest.

“Now,” he whispered, a terrifying smile finally touching the corners of his lips, “Who else feels like telling me a story?”

Morgan started sobbing violently.

I shook my head frantically but it hurt so much to move, “Raphael, Raph, please, you need you to listen,” I leaned toward him, “Cole is trying to make them look guilty. He’s turning everything around. Please…”

Raphael’s expression never changed, “I heard every word.”

“Then help them! Please, don’t hurt them”

For a moment, he simply looked at me. When he finally spoke, his voice was completely calm, “So first…” his hand rested lightly against my shoulder, “…I’m getting you out of these ropes.”

“Raphael-”

“Then I’m taking you to a doctor.”

“I don’t need-”

“You do.”

“I need you to listen!”

“I am listening.”

“No, you’re not!”

“I am,” his eyes stayed locked on mine, as he untied the rope from my wrists, “But right now….the only thing that matters to me…”

His fingers carefully lifted one of my hands, studying the angry red marks circling my wrists.

“…is that somebody put their hands on you.”

I looked into his eyes. There was no panic there. No rage that anyone else would recognize, just absolute focus. The kind that always appeared when he was solving a problem.

“I care that someone struck you hard enough to leave you unconscious.”

His eyes dropped briefly to the blood staining the side of my shirt.

“I do,” I choked out, a fresh wave of tears blurring my vision.

“I know you believe that,” he stated.

The utter lack of warmth in his eyes made my chest tighten until I could barely breathe. “You think I’m wrong?”

“I think you have a head injury,” he replied coldly, his thumb testing the swelling on my temple, “Which makes your judgment entirely unreliable.”

Before I could even try to argue, a scream shattered the basement air.

Vincenzo had drawn his gun and pointed it straight at Mama D’s leg while Dante held her up and then the bullet tore straight through her thigh, shattering the bone.

Mama D let out a piercing scream that bounced off the brick walls as blood sprayed across the gray floor.

Vincenzo slowly lowered the smoking barrel, his face carved from ice as he looked down at her thrashing on the ground, “I guess that will make you tell me the fucking truth.”

This chapter is mostly unedited because I had to write it very quickly. I’m not sure if it’ll hit the same, but I gave it everything I had. I hope you guys enjoy it anyway.
