Chapter 510: Dare Me Again

Ashley had never truly believed she would kill Marshal.

She had made plans even before traveling back in time, but several factors had stopped her from carrying them out.

One of them was her arrest during her final mission for the Di Carpios. After that, she had promised herself that as long as Marshal didn’t force her back into the family, she would leave him alone.

Then, a year after she gained her independence, Scott appeared and handed her over to Dominion.

Still, she told herself that as long as she wasn’t dragged back into the Di Carpio household, she wouldn’t go after Marshal.

And she wasn’t.

So, her attention shifted toward escaping Dominion without shedding any blood.

In her previous life, Ashley could have forced her way out of Dominion. She could have even killed Lucian if she wanted to.

But she didn’t.

The more she thought about it, the more she realized that aside from Nikki, Ashley hadn’t killed anyone in her previous life—not until its very end.

In this life, however, she had realized one important thing.

She could not live as long as Marshal remained alive.

By the time they finally cornered Marshal and Scott, more members of Dominion had arrived and pulled over around them.

"Get them out!"

"Make sure they’re not armed!"

Gustav dragged Scott out of the car while Red hauled Marshal out. Meanwhile, Ashley stretched her aching limbs as she removed her black helmet.

"You all right?" Lucian asked, examining his wife from head to toe.

Ashley glanced at him and smirked.

"Thanks to you."

He smiled back, letting out a faint chuckle as he shook his head.

"That wasn’t fun at all," he said, referring to the entire chase—especially the moment Ashley had leaped off her motorcycle. "Don’t ever do that again."

"I won’t... maybe? But if I were forced to, I know you were there to catch me." She winked at him. "I knew you would."

Of course Lucian would.

Throughout that entire stunt, all he had been able to think about was the safety of his reckless wife.

If Gustav could hear Lucian’s thoughts, however, he would have stared at him in judgment.

Reckless wife?

Wasn’t Lucian just as reckless?

If Gustav hadn’t trusted him, he would never—never—have stayed inside the car for the entire chase. Jumping out of the speeding vehicle had seemed safer than remaining inside it.

"What the hell are you doing?!" Marshal screamed as Red pinned him against the trunk of the car.

Red tried to cuff him, but for some reason, the restraints wouldn’t fit around his wrists.

Marshal glared at Lucian and Ashley.

The couple snapped out of their brief exchange and turned toward him.

"He’s yours," Ashley told Lucian, keeping her eyes on Marshal. "For now."

"Red, it’s all right." Lucian waved him off. "Even without the cuffs, there isn’t much he can do."

Red rocked his head from side to side before stepping back with his hands raised.

"All yours, Boss’s... husband."

"Boss’s husband?" Lucian stopped and looked back at his wife.

"I’m his boss," Ashley replied playfully. "He’s not wrong."

She glanced at Red, who returned her knowing look before giving the couple some space.

As Red walked away, he saw Tank and Vodka pulling up in another car. He narrowed his eyes when he spotted Rum sprawled across the backseat, looking battered and disheveled.
