My Child and I Married a Billionaire novel Chapter 247

Chapter 247: Chapter 247: The Cool Trio

With that, Zeke Walton grabbed the small purse from Cecelia Archer’s hand and bolted.

The shop owner watched his tall, slender figure retreat and couldn’t help but say to Cecelia Archer,

"Your boyfriend is so handsome, and he’s so good to you. You’re beautiful, too. You two are such a perfect match."

Cecelia Archer and Damien Vaughn: "..."

Damien Vaughn had been standing a step behind them the whole time, as if approaching the stall was beneath his dignity, refusing to come closer.

But after the shop owner called Zeke Walton her boyfriend, Cecelia Archer turned around to find Damien had actually moved to her side.

Bright, energy-saving lamps hung in front of every stall. Now that he was closer, the light illuminated his face, and Cecelia Archer could clearly see the fine beads of sweat on his temples.

’How could someone be so meticulous, so unwilling to take off his suit jacket? His old-fashioned ways were almost pitiful.’

Cecelia Archer bit back her thoughts. "President Vaughn, would you like to buy a set, too?"

Damien Vaughn was indeed hot, but his expression was calm.

"You think this kind of thing suits me?"

’It’s not a matter of whether it suits him or not,’ Cecelia thought. ’Compared to dying of heatstroke, comfort seems much more important.’

’Besides, how would he know it didn’t suit him if he didn’t even try it on?’

"You have such a great body, you’re handsome, and your muscles are firmer than Zeke Walton’s. If he looks good in it, how could you possibly look bad? If you really can’t stand the heat, just change. Look at the way everyone is staring at us."

Damien Vaughn turned his head slightly to look around. Sure enough, the passersby were all giving them strange looks.

He was used to being admired and looked up to. The gazes he usually received were ones of praise, admiration, or fear. This was the first time he’d encountered such looks of amusement, and his pride couldn’t take it.

"Since you put it that way, I suppose I’ll reluctantly change. But have these clothes even been washed? Can you just wear them right off the rack?"

The shop owner grabbed a shirt and rubbed it vigorously in front of him.

"We’ve been in business for years, and most of our customers are tourists. How could we not have thought of that? See how soft the fabric is? The first thing we do when we get new stock is wash it several times. I’ve been doing business here for over ten years, and not a single customer has ever come back for a refund because of poor quality or an allergic reaction. Don’t you worry."

"You’re not my first customer, and you won’t be my last. I’m not going to rip you off."

Cecelia Archer reached out and felt the clothes. It wasn’t the stiff, crudely made fabric she expected; it felt quite soft and comfortable.

"Zeke Walton is already wearing one, so it should be fine. Worst case, you can take it off as soon as we get back to the hotel. Give it a try."

Damien Vaughn reluctantly took another step closer to the stall. ’They’re all so gaudy. He just couldn’t bring himself to wear one.’

Seeing his pained expression, Cecelia Archer could roughly guess what he was thinking.

She picked out a brownish-colored set that looked the most conservative and handed it to him.

"I think this one will suit you."

Soon, Damien Vaughn also emerged from the fitting room.

He came out wearing sunglasses, as if to hide his embarrassed expression.

To those in the know, he was a shy tourist trying on new clothes. To those who didn’t, with his powerful aura and demeanor, you’d think he was some kind of triad boss straight out of a Hong Kong movie.

"Vaughn? Holy crap, what are you... Just pretend I didn’t say anything. Sorry. You... you look pretty good in that. Really, it suits you."

The two men were already on awkward terms. After Zeke had just roasted Damien to his face, the tension between them became even thicker once Cecelia walked away to change.

Zeke Walton stood there with him on pins and needles for a few minutes until Cecelia Archer finally squeezed out of the crowd, carrying the clothes she had changed out of.

"Okay, let’s go."

There were so many people in the changing area that she had worked up a sweat, so she casually twisted her hair up into a topknot.

Having shed her heavy clothes for a breezy blue camisole and a denim mini-skirt, with her hair in a cute bun, she left both Zeke Walton and Damien Vaughn completely stunned.

’She’s so fair-skinned, so slim, so perfectly proportioned, so beautiful!’

Although they had always known Cecelia Archer had a good figure, her previous outfits were always covering this or that, never fully showcasing her relaxed, casual vibe and playful spirit at the same time.

But now, this outfit that cost just a few dozen yuan had done it.

Zeke Walton made no effort to hide his admiration for Cecelia Archer, walking up and circling around her to get a better look.

"Oh my god, Cecelia, if I didn’t know you and you told me you were the mother of a three-year-old, you could beat me to death and I wouldn’t believe it! Your figure is incredible!"

"And your skin is to die for! You’re not wearing a lick of makeup, how can it be so flawless? My god, it’s such a waste that you’re not in showbiz. With your looks and this figure, if you were on screen, the fans would be worshiping you!"

Being scrutinized by him as he circled her, with Damien Vaughn also staring at her motionlessly from the front, made Cecelia Archer blush.

"What nonsense are you talking about? And stop shouting my name like that. Let’s go. Are we getting food or not?"
