My Child and I Married a Billionaire novel Chapter 246

Chapter 246: Chapter 246: No Sense of Boundaries

They hadn’t eaten all day and were starving and exhausted.

After taking the luggage into the room and using the bathroom, Zeke Walton couldn’t wait to go out and find something to eat.

"I’m starving. I’m going out to eat. Are you coming?"

Even though he and Damien Vaughn were sharing a room, they still hadn’t broken the ice, so their conversations were a little awkward.

Damien Vaughn gave him a lukewarm glance. "Didn’t you say you were tired? We can just order room service."

Zeke thought he was unbelievably dull.

’It’s not every day we get to travel. Aren’t you supposed to go out and experience the local culture?’

"I might be tired, but I still have enough energy to go out for a meal. I looked it up online last night. The night market here is supposed to be super lively. If you’re not going, Cecelia and I will go by ourselves."

As he spoke, he moved to open the door to get Cecelia, and Damien Vaughn immediately stood up.

"Did I say I wasn’t going?"

Cecelia Archer had never had many opportunities to travel. She had hardly visited any cities within the country, especially not one like this—a place with year-round high temperatures and a particularly strong, distinct culture.

It was her first time here, so she was incredibly curious. Besides, she had slept for the whole trip and felt full of energy. The moment Zeke called out to her, she ran out of her room.

On their way past the front desk, Zeke asked an employee for directions.

There was a very famous night market street about a kilometer from the hotel, a perfect spot for them to eat.

Sudland truly lived up to its reputation as a "little furnace." They had been in an air-conditioned car on the way over and had gone straight into the hotel upon arrival, so they hadn’t really felt the temperature difference.

But the moment they stepped outside, they immediately felt the huge difference in temperature from back home.

Winter had already set in back in Veridia. Though it wasn’t cold enough for down jackets, a sweater and an overcoat were still necessary.

Worried about the heat, they had deliberately left their sweaters behind, opting for long-sleeved T-shirts and jeans. But after walking for less than five minutes, they were already sweltering and on the verge of sweating.

Zeke fanned his face with his hand as he walked.

"Man, it’s hot. I’m dying. It must be in the nineties, right? I can’t wear a single thing I packed. Cece... I mean, Luna, are you hot?"

He had already called her by the wrong name several times today. Cecelia was tired of correcting him.

She brushed away the hair sticking to her forehead. "What do you think?"

The streets were filled with people. The men were all in patterned shirts, beach shorts, and flip-flops, while the women wore all sorts of spaghetti-strap tops, bandeaus, shorts, and miniskirts. Many were even just wearing bikinis.

Compared to them, Cecelia looked like a conservative who had just been excavated from an ancient tomb.

"See what those women are wearing? They must sell clothes like that nearby. Let’s hold off on dinner and buy you an outfit first. You’ll die of heat if you try to eat a meal in what you’re wearing now."

Cecelia wasn’t a conservative person. On the contrary, she admired those girls for wearing such colorful clothes and showing off their wonderful figures.

It was just too hot; she could feel her T-shirt sticking to her chest and back. She agreed with Zeke.

"Okay. And we’ll get you an outfit, too. Your shirt is already soaked."

After she said that, they both turned in unison to look at Damien Vaughn.

If the two of them looked like they’d been dug out of an ancient tomb, then Damien Vaughn looked like he had time-traveled from thousands of years ago; he was a whole level more conservative than they were.

He wasn’t just wearing a crisp shirt and dress pants; he also had on a suit jacket, with the collar and cuffs buttoned up securely.

In the frigid climate of Veridia, he looked distinguished and elegant, but now, in the blazing heat of Sudland...

"You should buy an outfit and change, too," Zeke said. Just looking at Damien’s stiff, formal posture made Zeke feel exhausted and hot on his behalf.

Damien Vaughn glanced at the passersby in their patterned shirts, shorts, and flip-flops. Though he didn’t voice his disdain outright, he rejected Zeke’s suggestion in an icy tone.

Zeke spun around in front of Cecelia, stirring up a cool breeze. Cecelia had to admit he looked much more refreshed and stylish.

"You look great. You’re tall with fair skin; you’d look good in anything. If you added a pair of sunglasses, it’d be perfect. You’d look like a leading man from a Hong Kong movie."

"Then I’ll get a pair of sunglasses."

The vendor’s stall had everything one could need. Zeke picked up a pair, slid them onto his nose, and his whole look instantly became much cooler. He looked genuinely great.

Cecelia thought this style of clothing was practically tailor-made for Zeke. ’The shirt looked so flashy on its own, so why does it look so fresh and cheerful on him?’

Beaming after her string of compliments, Zeke happily slung his arm around Cecelia’s shoulders.

"Your turn. Hurry up and get changed. Which one did you pick?"

"I want this one, but..."

Cecelia knew Zeke would understand. She gestured toward her chest, and sure enough, he understood instantly.

"That’s simple. Can’t you just detach the straps on the bra you’re wearing?"

"But the straps on this one aren’t detachable."

"Then just buy some pasties."

Despite being a man and a woman of similar age, they discussed the topic as comfortably as an old married couple, with no awkwardness whatsoever.

With that, Zeke called out to the vendor in a perfectly natural tone.

"Hey, Boss, do you sell pasties here?"

"Don’t sell that stuff. There’s a lingerie shop up ahead; they should have them."

Zeke glanced at Cecelia’s chest. "I remember you’re a B-cup. Wait here, I’ll go buy you a pair."
