Third–person POV:
“Really?” Damian froze for a second. “You’re saying he’s actually into Laila?”
“Absolutely.”

Damian’s fingers traced the rim of his cup as a slow smile spread across his face. “Now that’s interesting. A brother stealing his brother’s woman–that turns them into enemies for life.”
Titus said, “But King Vaughn doesn’t seem to have that kind of intention.”
“Whether he does or not depends on how you play it. Wait for the right moment and push them into bed together. After that, he won’t be able to deny it even if he wants to.” Estelle let out a cold laugh.
“No.” Titus frowned. “That won’t be easy. Laila’s a high–ranking Alpha. She’s not someone you can manipulate like that. Those tricks won’t work on her.”
Estelfe snorted. “No matter how strong she is, she’s still a she–wolf. She goes into heat eventually.”
Alpha Damian considered it for a moment. “That can wait. Handle what I mentioned first. As for whether Vaughn really has feelings for Laila, I’ll look into it myself. Now that I’m back and have access to the Royal Court, it won’t be difficult.”
He paused, then added, “Also, among the Cottontail, William is already finished. But Terrence has clearly caught Vaughn’s attention. He’ll be promoted and trusted. Once Blake steps down, the entire army might fall under his command. So his mate has to be one of ours.”
Estelle smiled slightly. “I happen to have someone in mind. The age fits. And she owes me her life.”
Titus glanced at her. “Did you really save her, or did you hurt her first and then save her?”
“Does it matter?”
Estelle gave a soft laugh. “Whether I saved her outright or put her in danger first and then rescued her, the result is the same. She owes me a life. That’s all that matters.”
Frostwind Pack.
Luke spent a few more days digging but still couldn’t find the old woman’s daughter. He didn’t go to Maris for confirmation. According to the records, Maris had parents and grew up by the sea, not in Silvermoon Pack.
But Samuel kept pressing harder. Luke came up with another idea and asked Shane to sketch what the child might look like. adult.
Shane happened to be traveling nearby and had time to come over and help.
When they arrived at the old woman’s house, Shane sat across from her
“Ma’am, do you remember what she looked like as a child?” Shane asked. “We have this portrait, but the more detalls you can give me, the more accurate I can make the drawing.”

The old woman’s expression tightened with pain. “I always thought I’d never forget. But now that you’re asking me to clearly picture her face… all I can see are flashes of her smiling, and the way she used to run toward me, calling out ‘Mom: But her face…! can’t bring the details back anymore”
Shane said gently, “Don’t blame yourself, It’s been 20 years. Forgetting is normal. And it’s a painful memory. The brain tries to protect you from things that hurt, so over time, the details fade.”
He smiled, his voice calm and steady.
“But if she stood in front of you the way she was back then, you’d still recognize her right away. The problem is that people grow up. Features change, face shapes shift. That’s okay. Just tell me whatever you do remember. The key is the overall structure and bone shape. Those don’t change much. And anything else, like moles, birthmarks, her eyebrows, whether she was chubby or skinny as a kid, all of that helps.”
The old woman wiped her eyes and nodded.
