The new Longbottom family head was to go to Longbottom Corporation today to take over the reins of the company from Manny.

Laurence got up early.

He was planning to prepare breakfast for Noelle and the two elders, but when he went downstairs, he found Noelle already busying herself in the kitchen.

“Good morning, Mr. Laurence.”

When she saw Laurence come in, Noelle turned to greet him respectfully.

“You’re up so early again. I was planning to prepare breakfast for you, Mom, and Master today.”

Noelle replied, “I woke up naturally. It’s a habit. I normally wake up around this time. Mom and Master are taking a walk in the garden. Why don’t you go out and keep them company? Once breakfast is ready, I’ll call you.”

Laurence looked at her intently for a moment. She met his gaze calmly, showing no signs of unease. Laurence very much wanted to ask her how she had decided, but only one night had passed when he had agreed to give her two days to think about it.

Thus, he held his tongue. He would ask her after two days.

She did say she would definitely give him an answer then.

He should not push her too hard.

“Alright, I’ll go find them.”

Laurence withdrew his gaze and turned to walk out of the kitchen.

Noelle quietly let out a sigh of relief.

She did not know why, but after Laurence confessed to her, she felt nervous every time he was around, even though she seemed so calm on the surface.

They had grown up together and knew each other inside out, but now, she felt nervous as if she had just gotten to know him.

Maybe it was because they had torn the veil between them.

Jane gave a hum before asking, concerned, “He’s willing to hand over his authority? I don’t feel like they’d give up so easily.”

Tony and Manny had been managing Longbottom Corporation for the past thirty years and dreamed of becoming the true head. They had even attempted to murder Laurence multiple times, so there was definitely no way they would give up so easily.

“On the surface, they won’t refuse, because everyone has accepted that I am who I am.

“I don’t know what they’ll try to pull in secret, though. But it doesn’t matter. I’ll deal with it as it comes.

“It’s only if they remain resentful and refuse to give up that I’ll be able to gather new evidence of their crimes and bring them under the hammer of justice.”

It was indeed difficult for him to gather evidence of what happened thirty years ago because it had happened so long ago, and Tony had erased all traces of what he had done. Even though many suspected him, they were helpless without proof.

What could they do against him?

Those in the know were either dead or missing. The only ones remaining were Tony’s accomplices.
