Married at First Sight (Serenity and Zachary) novel Chapter 5455

Both Liberty and Duncan were equally busy.

However, Duncan would get home earlier than Liberty and make sure everything was ready for her when she got back. At least, Liberty would relax without worrying about a thing at home.

Usually, Duncan would be the one to take care of the minor things concerning the Fishers.

Among generations of matriarchs, Duncan was widely regarded as the best husband any of them had ever had.

Not only was Duncan capable, but he was gracious and commanded respect.

Duncan did come from a good family, but he made it out on his own as well. He was quite a rebel in his youth.

“Come on.”

Liberty was not one to decline.

Both of them stepped out of the house.

“Should we ask Jiggy along? She should be back soon.”

While walking, Liberty asked.

Duncan said, “No. It will be just us.

“Oh, the devoted girl dad has finally come around.”

“Jiggy needs her own space and friends now that she’s older. She can’t just stick around us.”

Duncan added, “No one’s crashing our date tonight. The bodyguards can follow us from far away.”

With him there, he could protect Liberty even if they did not bring their security detail along.

Duncan was thirty-six when he married Liberty.

That was several years older than Sonny was now.

Men, especially the successful ones, would not settle down in their early thirties because they were too busy with their careers.

It was a different story for those who had childhood sweethearts or a partner through a marriage alliance.

“I was nearly forty when we got married. Things have gone well for us, no? I don’t look old.”

Tilting her head, Liberty looked at him. “You’d be gray now if you didn’t dye your hair. Never mind you, I could do some touching up too.”

No matter how carefully they maintained themselves, gray hair was simply a part of aging, something no one could defy.

Liberty had no problem admitting she was old. She had stepped into the ranks of the elderly.
