Bonnie muttered to herself, but her footsteps were fast and deliberate.
As she brushed past Seraphina, she used the massive box as a shield and slammed hard right into her.
"Ah!"
Caught completely off guard, Seraphina let out a sharp cry as the sheer force knocked her backward, sending her crashing ungracefully to the floor.
But it wasn't over.
Acting as though she hadn't felt a thing, Bonnie lifted her foot and brought it down with pinpoint accuracy, stomping violently onto Seraphina's delicate foot.
With a sharp snap, the heel of Seraphina's stiletto twisted awkwardly.
"Ahhh! My foot!"
Tears of sheer agony instantly shot from Seraphina's eyes.
Only then did Bonnie slowly shift the box to the side, revealing a perfectly innocent, wide-eyed expression.
She blinked her large eyes, staring down at Seraphina on the floor in absolute shock.
"Oh my gosh, Dr. Miller! Why is there a person lying here?"
Bonnie feigned a look of lingering dread. "I was carrying such a huge box, I couldn't see a thing! Why would you crawl right under my feet?"
"Walking without looking, and deliberately crowding someone carrying heavy objects, do you always lack this much common sense, Dr. Miller?"
She stood tall, looking down at Seraphina, her tone dripping with passive-aggressive disgust and manufactured innocence.
"You... you did that on purpose!" Seraphina was pale from the pain, pointing a trembling finger at Bonnie as she screamed.
"Dr. Miller, you can eat whatever you want, but you shouldn't just spew nonsense." Bonnie's eyes curved into a bright, blinding smile. "Instead of throwing yourself on the floor to frame me, you'd be better off getting your head checked."
With that, she hoisted the massive box and walked away toward the storage room without a single backward glance.
Seraphina gasped for breath on the floor, pointing at Bonnie's retreating back and screeching. "Bonnie Hayes! You get back here!"
The nurses and maintenance staff moving boxes nearby couldn't stand it anymore.
"Dr. Miller, you should really get up. Don't block the walkway; we have a lot of inventory to move."
"Yeah, if you're not going to help, at least don't get in the way."
As they spoke, a delivery guy carrying another huge box rushed past, his heavy boots nearly stomping right onto Seraphina's other foot.
Terrified out of her mind, Seraphina ignored the searing pain, scrambling to her feet and limping pathetically back to her office.
