"Parrish... I know my acupuncture is amazing, but massage is my weak point. But I went out of my way to learn this just for you, and I haven't even finished."
Parrish had already slid off the table, giving her a dismissive reply, "Next time."
He walked over to the mirror, smoothed his slightly disheveled hair, and pushed the door open to leave.
As he passed the front desk, his footsteps instinctively slowed.
He turned his head, his cold gaze landing on Bonnie.
Bonnie wasn't looking at him.
She had likely noticed his approach from the corner of her eye and deliberately shifted her body, turning entirely away to face the other direction.
At that moment, several patients' families were gathered around the front desk. Bonnie was leaning forward slightly, patiently answering their questions.
Today, she wore her signature high bun. Her smile was bright and gentle, her voice crisp and clear—she really was perfectly suited for a receptionist job.
Parrish retracted his gaze and scoffed inwardly.
An unlicensed, amateur doctor managing to score a receptionist job at this high-end private hospital was already the greatest blessing she could ever hope for.
Without lingering any further, Parrish strode out of the hospital, radiating a cold, aristocratic arrogance.
...
After her shift ended at noon, Bonnie rushed straight back to Riverstone Heights.
Davenport International Medical Center wasn't far. Bonnie jogged most of the way and arrived at the apartment building in less than five minutes.
Upon entering, she quickly changed her shoes, washed and sanitized her hands, and glanced toward the master bedroom.
The door was tightly shut, and the room was completely silent.
It seemed Quentin wasn't awake yet.
Bonnie looked away and immediately dove into the kitchen.
Moving efficiently, she whipped up two dishes and a soup in under forty minutes. Then, she placed the medicinal herbs for dinner into a clay pot, leaving them to simmer on low heat.
Only after finishing all this did she walk up to the master bedroom and knock gently.
"Mr. Vance, lunch is ready."
The door soon swung open, revealing Quentin's tall, imposing figure.
Today, he was wearing loose black loungewear, making his broad, muscular build look even more formidable.
However, he seemed much better than he had the previous days. He had likely gotten enough sleep, as the coldness and defensiveness were notably absent from his deep, dark eyes.
