"Mr. Hayes is in a meeting. You can speak directly to me, Dr. Sterling."
"I'm coming over right now."
Sienna arrived at the Hayes Group building.
Just as she reached the conference room, the meeting adjourned.
Silas walked out. He seemed to be in a good mood, and a faint smile appeared on his face when he saw Sienna.
"Silas..." Sienna stepped forward.
"Perfect timing. I have a dinner to attend, and you're coming with me."
Before she could finish her sentence, Silas had already pulled her into the elevator.
With other shareholders around, it wasn't the right place for Sienna to speak up, so she swallowed her words.
The Metropolis Private Club was the most exclusive venue in the city.
The corridors were lined with thick carpets that completely absorbed the sound of their footsteps.
Silas led her inside. A group of people was already seated around the table in the private room.
He naturally slipped his arm around her waist and guided her to the seat next to his.
"Sienna Sterling, a doctor at Mercy International. And she's with me."
His tone was casual, stating a fact that left no room for debate.
Everyone at the table belonged to the city's elite business circle. Some sized her up, others raised their glasses, and a few offered polite smiles and greetings.
Silas didn't entertain the flattery.
Throughout the dinner, he was incredibly attentive to her. He poured her water, served her food, and meticulously picked the bones out of the fish before placing it on her plate.
Sienna quietly ate the food he served her.
She didn't need to say or do anything; she just needed to appear poised and elegant.
She could feel the scrutinizing gazes from all around, but mostly, they were looks of deference and admiration.
All because she was Silas Hayes's date.
But the questions Sienna desperately wanted to ask remained stuck in her throat, suffocating her, because she couldn't find the right moment.
The atmosphere at the table was harmonious. No one dared to pressure Silas into drinking.
Finding an opening, Sienna turned her head and whispered to him.
"I have something I need to ask you."
Silas's expression remained indifferent, clearly uninterested.
