I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 305

Finn was silent.

His hand slid lifelessly from her wrist, dropping to his side.

His eyes were still red, but those final words had completely snuffed out whatever light was left inside them.

Finn sagged heavily against the stone wall.

He looked hollow, like a walking corpse drained of its soul.

He didn't speak another word.

No more begging.

No more questions.

He just turned and walked away.

The heavy thud of his leather shoes against the flagstone echoed into the night, fading further and further away.

Sienna stood perfectly still until the sound vanished entirely.

Her legs gave out, and she had to grip the edge of a nearby stone table just to stay upright.

Numb and utterly lost, she wandered mindlessly around the estate.

Somehow, through sheer luck, she eventually found her way back.

The lights in The North Wing were still on.

She shut the door behind her, leaning against the heavy wood as she slowly slid to the floor.

She didn't turn on any inside lights.

The cold, pale moonlight spilled through the windows, pooling on the ground.

She buried her face in her hands.

Not a single tear fell.

She just felt tired. An exhausting, bone-deep exhaustion that seemed to hollow her out from the inside.

She looked down at the scar on her wrist.

She had faithfully applied ointment to it every day for years.

The color had faded significantly.

Four years ago, when Finn had ruthlessly abandoned her without warning, she had nearly died.

Tonight, she had taken the man she loved and destroyed him with her own two hands.

The next day.

In a conference room at the Hayes Group headquarters.

Finn sat across from Silas, a sprawling rosewood table separating them.

Sunlight poured through the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting a bright divide between the two men.

Finn slouched in his chair, looking utterly depleted.

"I agree in principle to the partnership between AeroJet and your company," Silas said smoothly, leaning back. "But I have a few concerns to clarify."

Finn looked at him.

"Speak."

Silas tapped a finger lightly against the tabletop.
