Sienna felt Isaac was telling her completely unnecessary details.
Since he seemed to know so much about Silas, she suddenly remembered something and asked, "What is Mr. Hayes's relationship with Finn Fletcher?"
"Mr. Hayes's sister, Felicia Fletcher, is married to Finn's older brother."
Sienna nodded. That explained it.
"Alright, I get it. Thanks for the heads-up. I have to go now; I can't keep my boss waiting."
On the drive back, Sienna sat in the same seat as before.
Only this time, her emotions were even harder to settle.
She gathered her thoughts and made a solemn promise to Silas.
"Mr. Hayes, thank you so much for today. I promise to work incredibly hard from now on."
Silas looked at her.
His gaze lingered on her face for a brief second before shifting away.
"Was that Theodore Holloway's son?"
Sienna was caught off guard and didn't immediately understand.
Silas stared at her for a moment. "Are you two close?"
Sienna answered carefully. "We're former colleagues."
It was best to speak as little as possible to avoid mistakes.
Silas didn't press further.
Sienna leaned back against the seat, her heart slowly returning to a steady rhythm.
She watched the city streets blur past the window.
Isaac's words echoed in her mind.
Superstitious, divorced with a kid, the brother of Finn's sister-in-law...
Sienna wasn't a naive twenty-something girl anymore. She knew who she was and what she wanted.
She needed this job to realize her professional worth and to support her family.
This was already the best-case scenario. She couldn't ask for anything more.

Mercy International Hospital.
"Yes!" she declared with adorable ferocity.
"Where's your medical license?"
The little girl opened her mouth. "...I forgot to bring it."
"Then bring it tomorrow. Until you do, no more stickers."
The girl stared at her, eyes wide.
No one had ever dared speak to her like that.
In the entire Mercy International Hospital, the doctors wouldn't dare, the nurses wouldn't dare. Everyone was terrified of her!
"Who are you to boss me around?"
Sienna was already examining the puncture mark on Finn's hand, not looking up. "Because he's my patient. In this room, I call the shots."
The little girl's eyes darted around.
She looked at Sienna, then at Finn.
Finn had been staring at Sienna. It was a brief glance, but she caught it.
"Are you two married?" Maya asked.
