"Why don't you cut the act? What exactly is it going to take for you to hand over my file?"
Elias lifted his teacup for another sip, slowly running a finger around the porcelain rim.
"I'm a reasonable man. Sit down right now and write a formal confession. Admit that you engaged in procedural violations and unethical conduct during your employment. Sign it, put your thumbprint on it, and you can walk out of here with your file."
A heavy silence fell over the office.
The other two executives exchanged knowing glances.
Sienna stared coldly at Elias.
"You want me to admit to crimes I never committed just so you can permanently destroy my medical career. You really are a vicious bastard."
Elias shrugged, his tone thoroughly unbothered.
"The choice is yours. Refuse to write it, and the file stays. My hands are tied."
Seeing the smug, untouchable grin plastered on his face, Sienna's hands curled into tight fists.
She marched straight to the coffee table and snatched up his teacup.
Before Elias could even drop his arrogant smirk, she upended the cup, dumping the scalding tea directly over his head.
The floral scent of jasmine exploded across the room as wet tea leaves plastered themselves to the few sparse strands of hair clinging to his scalp.
Greasy, tea-stained water cascaded down his forehead and dripped off his nose.
Elias completely froze, his eyes bulging out of their sockets, his mouth hanging open as a choked gasp clawed out of his throat.
"Elias Dayton, you are absolute garbage. A rotting tumor in this hospital."
Having delivered her piece, Sienna slammed the empty porcelain cup back onto the wooden table with a sharp, echoing crack.
"You wanted tea so badly? It's on me! Drink up!"
The surrounding executives finally snapped out of their shock, springing out of their chairs like they'd been electrified.
"Are you insane, Sienna?! How dare you assault a director!"
Elias's face morphed from chalk-white to furious red, and finally to a violently mottled purple. His hands trembled, his lips quivered, and he stood there shaking like a pathetic, cornered toad.
Sienna knew she wasn't getting her file back today, but she didn't care anymore.
She had tolerated this man's abuse for far too long.
Compared to him, a low-level vice president like Elias Dayton was nothing but an insect.
President Goring stepped into the room, shooting Elias a sideways glance as if he were looking at a piece of rotting garbage.
"Your formal suspension notice will be issued tomorrow morning, Dayton. The internal investigation board arrives next week. I suggest you cooperate fully."
Elias's lips quivered violently.
"President Goring... I've given thirty years of my life to this hospital. I've been loyal... You can't do this to me!"
Goring didn't even look at him. His voice dropped like a guillotine, offering zero mercy.
"Abuse of power and gross bribery. Either charge is enough to put you behind bars. Retrieve Dr. Sterling's personnel file immediately."
Elias slowly turned his head toward Sienna, his eyes blown wide with sheer terror.
He was an old man who had sat comfortably on his throne for ten years. He had crushed countless people and never once felt an ounce of fear.
But in this exact moment, he was terrified.
With a heavy thud, his legs gave out, and he collapsed onto the floor in utter defeat.
