Sienna didn't see Julian's messages until she got back to her desk.
She searched for the place on a review app and realized it was a recently opened restaurant known for its exquisite food and elegant atmosphere. It was a wildly popular date spot for young couples—essentially, a romantic bistro.
It was a little weird, but not totally awkward.
She had already reached the point where seeing Julian felt like seeing her own father, if not worse.
Since he wanted to eat there, she didn't refuse, simply replying with an "Okay."

In the afternoon, Sienna took some time off.
She met up with Kelsey—her former Syllable Studio colleague and college friend—to check on the renovation progress of the space they had secured for their atelier.
The space had previously been a boutique private wedding dress studio. The owner pivoted to the fabric business and moved out of town, leaving the perfect location vacant.
Sienna had chosen this spot because, aside from the convenient transit, its minimalist yet high-end aesthetic perfectly matched the vision for their new atelier.
Because of that, it didn't need a massive overhaul.
They only had to make minor adjustments to fit their specific needs.
By the time they left the atelier, it was already 5:00 PM and the sky was growing dark. The two of them headed to a nearby café to go over business details.
The private booth was quiet and elegant, bathed in the soft glow of a chandelier, with the rich aroma of roasted coffee lingering in the air.
In such a tranquil setting, it was easy for Sienna to pick up on slight anomalies—like Kelsey's subtle, unusual behavior.
She kept sighing, and her eyes kept darting away.
Sienna asked her what was wrong.
Kelsey hesitated. "That training trip we scheduled for next week... I don't think I can go anymore, Sienna. I was wondering if we could switch roles."
Originally, they had agreed that Sienna would handle the preliminary preparations, recruitment, and setup in Aurelia, while Kelsey would travel to Stanton City for an advanced industry training seminar.
Sienna didn't mind switching.
Since Julian was transferring back to Stanton City anyway, she wasn't completely opposed to being there.
She just probed a little further. "What happened?"
Kelsey touched her stomach and sighed. "I'm pregnant."
The chat history in his hand suddenly overlapped with fragmented illusions in his memory.
During his amnesia, it seemed like these kinds of interactions happened all the time.
One-sided apologies without context.
He used to be baffled by what could have possibly happened.
Now, it all made perfect sense.
The man lowered his eyes, his long fingers tapping against the edge of his phone. His sharp gaze caught a new update on a specific contact's social feed.
Julian had posted a picture of a restaurant.

After parting ways with Kelsey, Sienna rushed to the agreed-upon bistro.
A server followed behind her, took her coat to store in the designated cloakroom, and handed her a number tag.
Since Julian hadn't arrived yet, she ordered drinks and a few appetizers based on his preferences.
