I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 349

Once the door clicked shut, the chaotic, noisy office was left with only two people.

Miles had no idea what this man intended to do, but a creeping sense of dread began to crawl up his spine.

The sharp shriek of the leather chair scraping against the floorboards pierced the silence.

Miles watched as the tall, imposing man stood up fully. He walked around the desk and stopped right in front of him, exuding a suffocating wave of pure dominance.

Miles hadn't realized just how massive the man was. He was even taller than George by a few inches, forcing Miles to crane his neck to look up at him.

The man radiated an absolute, bone-chilling hostility. His striking features held none of the refinement of a businessman; his eyes were bottomless, harboring a raw, predatory violence.

He didn't say a single word. He methodically took off his tailored suit jacket and slipped off his glasses, tossing them casually onto the desk.

Miles finally sensed the imminent danger. "You..."

The word barely left his mouth.

A devastating fist smashed into his face.

The teeth George hadn't managed to knock out were violently dislodged, practically erupting from his mouth as he was sent flying into the heavy mahogany door.

Jorrod had been trained in mixed martial arts, but his opponents had only ever been heavy bags and sparring gear.

He had learned it strictly for self-defense.

His entire upbringing had drilled one rule into him: always remain calm and calculated.

Throwing punches was too reckless, too primitive. More importantly, it risked getting his own hands dirty.

This was the very first time in his life he had battered another person.

And he held absolutely nothing back.

It was a sheer, terrifying one-sided slaughter. With his face grotesquely swollen, Miles was in so much agonizing pain he couldn't even draw a full breath. His eyes, completely wide with terror, locked onto the face of the man he had dared to underestimate just moments ago.

Jorrod's expression hadn't changed at all. He was dead calm, looking as though he hadn't just beaten a man half to death.

He crouched down over Miles and casually picked up a jagged shard from a teacup that had shattered during the beatdown.

He held it out.

"How exactly did you cut George? Come on, give me a demonstration."

Miles's lips trembled violently.

He knew Miles was completely finished.

And he knew he wasn't far behind him.

The entire corrupt chain of command tying the factory to his position had just been violently severed.

When George returned home that evening, his emotions were entirely scrambled.

After the massive highs and lows of the day, his heart was still hammering in his chest. He didn't even know if he was supposed to be happy or terrified.

Jorrod had stayed at the factory for the rest of the day. George hadn't spoken a single word to him.

They hadn't even made eye contact.

By the end of the day, Apex Manufacturing had undergone a massive purge. Jorrod operated like a ruthless, impartial executioner. Every single piece of corruption was eradicated without exception. Not only was Miles fired, but every crony who had latched onto him—including Arthur Carter—was unceremoniously thrown out, told to pack up and leave immediately.

Even the General Manager had been replaced.

George originally assumed Jorrod would just elevate a random supervisor to the position. But after hearing the factory chatter, he realized that wasn't the case.
