After an agonizingly tense silence, the woman's calm voice finally came through the speaker. "I'll pick him up after work."

Both sides came to an agreement. During the day, Jorrod would be supervised by specialized medical caretakers, and Dr. Hart would visit daily for evaluations.
Sienna only needed to take over in the evenings. Since it didn't interfere with her working hours, she didn't bother taking time off.
Jorrod was incredibly obedient.
He was even more well-behaved than during his first bout of amnesia, though far more silent.
Sienna had no idea when he would fully recover, so she bought him a few sets of comfortable loungewear on her way home, planning to keep them in rotation.
At the entryway, after changing into her slippers, Sienna noticed him staring intently into the apartment. "Does it look familiar?" she asked casually.
Jorrod lowered his eyes, his gaze landing gently on her face like still water. There was no visible emotion, and he made no sound.
Sienna sighed. "I always used to joke about poisoning you to make you mute, but now that you're actually not saying a word, it's driving me crazy."
Suddenly, a large, warm palm cupped her cheek, gently tilting her face up.
Sienna froze. She looked up, her eyes crashing into the dark, profound depths of his gaze.
His eyelashes fluttered slightly as he softly spoke his very first word since waking up. "I."
Sienna swallowed the sudden surge of emotion in her chest, pressing her lips together. "You what?"
He said, "Speak."
Her heart, which had just started racing, immediately leveled out.
Sienna looked at him. "What's my name?"
The air plunged right back into silence.
Jorrod didn't move his hand. Seeing her sigh, he spoke again. "You."
"I'm not telling you. If you want to know, try harder to remember it yourself." Sienna pulled his hand away, shot him a look, and walked further into the apartment.
Dinner was delivered by the Vaughn family's staff.
"Don't what?"
He said, "Leave you."
"Put it together. How do you say it?"
Under Sienna's expectant gaze, she watched the peaceful expression on the man's face slowly morph into genuine confusion.
A deep, overwhelming sense of exhaustion washed over her—it genuinely felt like she was trying to teach a toddler how to speak.
Her raised brows dropped. Sienna pulled her tightly gripped hand free and pointed toward the master bedroom. "You sleep in this room."
It was a ridiculously expensive bed; it ought to have some sort of healing properties.
Maybe the sheer luxury of it would jog his memory, and he'd wake up tomorrow chanting her name non-stop.
But Jorrod refused to let her leave. The moment she pulled her hand away, he immediately grabbed it again. His palm was large and incredibly warm, the heat steadily transferring to her skin. She could even feel a faint, nervous dampness in his grip.
"Don't want to leave you," the man finally managed to force out, visibly struggling with the syllables.
