I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 259

The man's hair was flawlessly styled, his dark suit perfectly tailored without a single crease. A crisp Windsor knot sat snugly beneath his throat, and elegant cufflinks glinted at his wrists.

He looked dressed for a high-profile interview, instantly reminding Sienna of the first time they had met.

Jorrod Vaughn lowered his gaze to the arm he was gripping, then slowly released his hold.

Naturally, the other two people in the room were stunned into silence.

Caleb, recovering first from the physical assault, slammed a hand on the table and shot up. "Who the hell are you?!"

Standing at the edge of the table, Jorrod lifted his dark eyes. A long, elegant finger tapped the top sheet of paper. "Does this look familiar?"

Caleb froze. He glanced down at the documents, and his face drained of color as he registered the text.

"This credit report... the serial number doesn't quite match up, does it?"

"An Ivy League master's?" Jorrod leaned over lazily, sliding another sheet from the pile and pushing it toward Caleb. His voice was smooth and indifferent. "I had them run the student ID. Curiously, the university has no record of you. You hired a decent forger, though. The watermark is about eighty percent accurate."

"What the hell are you trying to—"

"Oh, and the downtown penthouse," Jorrod interrupted, picking up a stray page near the edge of the table. He scanned it casually. "The registered owner doesn't share your last name. I believe his name is Smith. Your name only appears on the lease agreement. Quarterly payments."

"Tsk." Jorrod flicked the paper against Caleb's chest. "Looks like your rent is overdue this month, too."

Assuming Jorrod was an overly protective boyfriend, Caleb turned his wrath on Sienna, who was quietly watching the spectacle.

"You have a boyfriend and you're still on dating apps?! Are you a psycho?!"

Snarling, Caleb grabbed his briefcase from the table and stormed toward the door.

A foot casually extended into the aisle. Caleb lost his balance entirely, crashing onto the carpet with a heavy thud. His briefcase flew out of his hands, skidding past Sienna's calves before hitting the floor.

It wasn't a violent attack, but it was utterly humiliating.

Face burning red, Caleb scrambled to get up, only to find a polished leather shoe resting lightly on the back of his hand. The tailored pant leg hiked up just enough to reveal a sliver of Jorrod's ankle wrapped in dark dress socks.
