HIS STRIPPER, HIS WIFE novel Chapter 133

Chapter one hundred and thirty three

Adrian

Ryan had always been the type to avoid women like they were some kind of tax he refused to pay. Everyone who knew him knew that about him. it was almost a running joke among the top members that we both moved with, so seeing him standing this close to Biatica, smiling at her like she was the only person in the room, threw me off balance. What the hell · was he doing with her.

“Adrian, this is one of the directors in my workplace, he is…” Bianca started, already turning slightly toward me to make the introduction proper.

“I know him.” I said, cutting her off before she could finish, my voice softer than I wanted it to sound.

“Oh… okay,” she said, nodding slowly, clearly not expecting that answer.

“Yes, beautiful, we know each other,” Ryan said, smiling at her now instead of me. “Maybe not the best of friends, but yes, we are familiar.”

The way he said beautiful, so easily made my jaw tighten. I kept my face as calm as I could manage, but the irritation couldn’t stop crawling up my neck. This guy is definitely up to something.

“How do you know Mr Delacroix?” he asked, looking between the two of us now, “is he your friend? Or…”

“Yes,” she said immediately, before Ryan could get another word in. “My friend.”

My chest tightened the moment the word left her mouth. Friend. It sounded ridiculous even as I said it, considering everything running through my head in that exact moment, the urge to pull her against me right there in front of him, to make it painfully clear who she belonged to, to hear her whisper against my ear the way she did when it was just the two of us and there was no audience to perform for.

“You’ve got a spot for one more friend?” Ryan said, grinning wider now, clearly enjoying himself far too much.

I almost punched him right there. I actually felt my hand curl slightly at my side before I controlled myself, forcing it open again. Instead, I moved my other hand tighter around her waist, letting it stay low against her belly, making it deliberately intimate. Ryan’s eyes dropped to where my hand rested, and instead of backing off the way I expected, he just smiled wider.

“Well…” Bianca started, and I honestly didn’t want to hear whatever she was about to say next. I didn’t want to hear her fumble through an answer that could go either way, but I stayed anyway. I wasn’t going to drag her away like some jealous, insecure man in front of a room full of people.

“Well, we would find out, beautiful,” Ryan said, cutting in smoothly before she could finish, his eyes still fixed on her like 1 wasn’t even standing there.

“If you’ll excuse us,” I finally said, pulling Bianca a little by her waist, and to my relief she didn’t protest, just let herself be ¡steered away.

“Reply my message the next time I send you a message,” Ryan called after her, and I felt my grip tighten slightly without meaning to.

“Alright, Ryan,” she said over her shoulder, the way she said his name softly felt wrong to me. It made me restless throughout our walk back to the table but I didn’t say anything until we were both seated again, her adjusting the strap of her clutch, me trying to shake off the irritation still sitting heavy in my chest.

“You don’t just go around talking to anybody,” I said finally, keeping my voice low.

“You left me alone to myself,” she said, turning to face me properly now, “plus I just randomly bumped into him. I wouldn’t

act like I didn’t know him.”

HIS STRIPTER HIS WIFE

I didn’t have a response for that one, at least not one that wouldn’t make me sound exactly like the jealous man I was trying not to look like, so I said nothing.

Not long after, the event ended, the host thanking everyone again for coming, and people started gathering their things

Felix will take you home,” I said, standing up and straightening my jacket.

She nodded and stood up too, gathering her clutch, and I watched her walk toward the exit, already thinking about how the rest of my night would look without her in it, when I caught sight of Ryan cutting through the crowd, moving fast, clearly trying to catch up with her before she made it outside.

“Oh, this guy wouldn’t rest, would he?” I muttered under my breath, already walking toward the door myself, though I told myself it was only because I needed to head out too, not because I had any interest in whatever conversation was about to happen between them.

By the time I stepped outside, Bianca was already leaning against the car, Ryan standing close, talking to her about something I couldn’t hear from where I stood. Felix was waiting on the other side of the car, arms crossed, clearly just as ready to leave as I was.

I stood there for a moment, watching Ryan lean in slightly as he spoke, watching Bianca laugh at whatever he said, and I fel that same weird heat rise in my chest again. Then, before I could decide whether or not to walk over and put an end to it myself, they pulled each other into a light hug, nothing light about it from where I stood. Watching another man get that close to her was never going to sit right with me.
