Julian POV
I’ve never seen a woman more resistant to me than Sinclair. Any she-wolf would jump at the chance to be a Luna. I am singling her out, and she not only publicly rejected me, but she humiliated me as well.
It only deepens my resolve to make her my Luna. She has character, spunk, and the biggest brass balls I have ever seen. Most people would be scared to talk back to an Alpha. Not her, though. She calls me on my shit at every turn.
Not only that, but she holds those closest to her in esteem. Angelo has earned her trust and respect. I didn’t rough him up, but I didn’t stop it from happening either. Sinclair was right when she said I haven’t kept the pack in peace. If giving one pack member a hard time keeps the pack unified, I don’t see the harm. Angelo just happened to be the target.
She is forgiven. She is helping Conrad and Chad, despite the way they treated her for years. She never ceases to amaze me. How could anyone not want a woman like her by their side?
Dave comes into my office while I’m in my thoughts about Sinclair. “Alpha?”
“Speak.”
“We followed Sinclair and Angelo. They did indeed go to her foster home. They are en route back to the pack. Sinclair is bringing a box with her. Scouts reports that she was angry when she walked out of the residence.”
“Do you know why?”
“No, sir. We suspect it may be because of the box she was carrying.”
“How far out is she?”
“Approximately thirty minutes.”
“Did you set up what I asked for?”
“Yes, it was set up. Are you thinking she is hiding something?”
“I don’t know, but I do want to understand her more,” I replied.
He nodded and then left. Once the door was closed, I took out her picture. She really is beautiful. Not in an overstated way. She has a natural beauty. Her skin is flawless, and I suspect it’s because she never wears makeup. She honestly doesn’t need to wear it. She looks younger than she actually is, but not in some adolescent way. More like an innocent way. I know she had a mate and pups. It was reported that she had already given birth. She isn’t a stranger to a man’s touch. She never talks about her pups. I made a note to ask her about them later.
I continued working on getting the ports from Rodrigo. I asked my attorney to look into his recent legal dealings, if any, and to report back to me. He called me earlier, and I was working with the warriors. I decided to call him back and ask what news he had.
“Mr. Ortega,” my attorney answered.
