He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 882

"Has she left her apartment at all?" Sebastian asked, turning away from the window. It was clear he was only focused on Helena.

"No, sir. Ms. Wallace hasn't stepped out once. Charlotte Morgan went straight to her place tonight," Carter confirmed.

Sebastian stood by the floor-to-ceiling windows, his hands clasped behind his back, staring out in silence.

Carter couldn't read his boss's mind.

After a long pause, Carter added, "Boss, if my estimates are correct, given Charlotte's reappearance, the police will likely make an official announcement by tomorrow."

Sebastian murmured an acknowledgment.

He glanced at Carter. "Whatever she chooses to do, you are not to interfere."

"Understood," Carter nodded.

They both knew 'she' meant Helena.

Shortly after, Carter quietly excused himself.

Once he was alone, Sebastian's gaze dropped to his phone.

His eyes darkened with complicated emotions.

After a moment, he sent Helena a text.

Sebastian: [Helena, let's talk.]

The message was delivered, but there was no reply.

Sebastian didn't push it. He just stood there, lost in thought.

Suddenly, a soft knock echoed from the study door.

Sebastian turned to see Kyle standing in the hallway.

"Daddy..." the little boy mumbled.

Sebastian immediately walked over and crouched down to his eye level. "What's wrong? Did you wake up to use the bathroom? Or do you need water? Let's go."

"I want water," Kyle whispered.

Without a word, Sebastian scooped him up and carried him to the kitchen.

The little guy grasped the glass with both hands, taking big gulps, but his eyes kept darting toward Sebastian.

"What's on your mind?" Sebastian asked gently, easily reading his son's hesitation.

Kyle finished his water before finally speaking up. "I know Helena is in Riverton. Can I go see her?"
