He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 802

He looked down and typed a reply.

Sebastian: [You did this on purpose?]

Helena: [Oh, maybe.]

The provocation was unapologetic. She was dangling the bait right in front of him.

His thumb hovered over the screen.

A low, genuine chuckle escaped his lips.

Sebastian: [What do you want to buy?]

Helena: [I'll count to three. If you don't get up, I'm leaving.]

The ultimatum couldn't be clearer.

The numbers actually popped up in the chat.

She knew perfectly well that he despised being threatened.

But right now, she was tap-dancing all over his boundaries.

Perhaps she wanted to see just how much he was willing to tolerate.

After sending the last text, she didn't look at her phone again. She didn't even glance his way.

Without a second thought, she turned on her heel and started to walk away.

Seeing her retreat, he let out a silent laugh.

It was the first time anyone had ever shoved a blatant threat in his face.

And absurdly enough, he actually liked it.

Without drawing attention to himself, he stood up.

He was going after her.

Janetta saw him move, and all the color drained from her face.

But bound by the cameras and the crowd, she couldn't rush off stage to stop him.

She stared at him desperately, but he didn't spare her a single glance.

Her expression shattered. "Sebastian..." she blurted out, unable to hold it in.

He ignored her, striding away under the protective wall of his security detail.

Janetta tried to go after him, but the MC blocked her path.

The host was quick on his feet, scrambling to save her dignity.

"Mr. Hayes is a very busy man. Just his presence here speaks volumes. Now, let's get back to today's main event..." the MC chirped brightly.

As a seasoned actress, Janetta's mask slid back into place seamlessly.

At the very least, he wasn't going to throw her to the wolves.

She wasn't surprised.

It was an airtight corporate answer.

She smiled, playing along perfectly. "Mr. Hayes and I are attending the same gala tonight. We also have contract details to finalize. Running into each other here isn't exactly front-page news."

She offered a polite nod.

She didn't elaborate further.

But more importantly, she made no move to actually leave.

The reporters exchanged baffled looks.

They were too calm.

So shockingly calm that it killed the narrative.

Essentially, they had stonewalled the media completely.

As the bodyguards pushed the press back, he closed the distance between them.

He made no effort to hide it, but his voice was low enough for only her to hear.

"What do you want to shop for?" he asked.
