After hanging up, Helena quietly stared at the schedule on The Gossip App and sent Charlotte Morgan a message.
Helena: [Janetta has her fan meeting this afternoon. Keep hyping it up. Get your parents there, along with your old fans.]
Charlotte: [We're on the same page. I've already notified them.]
Helena: [Don't worry. There will be bodyguards on-site. Nothing will happen.]
Charlotte: [Helena, I've never doubted you.]
They didn't chat any further.
She locked the screen, staring down at her phone in silence.
She spun the device in her hand, her thoughts unreadable.
Sebastian ended his call and casually strolled back toward her.
She looked up, meeting his gaze without flinching.
He didn't speak immediately.
The call had been from Janetta.
She wanted him to attend the event that afternoon.
He hadn't agreed or refused.
Perhaps because of the woman sitting right in front of him, he naturally maintained his distance from Janetta.
"This afternoon..." he began evenly.
"Janetta has an event?" She arched an eyebrow, asking with a slow, measured tone.
He let out a low hum of confirmation. "Do you want me to go?"
It was as if he was handing her all the power.
She lowered her gaze, a cryptic smile playing on her lips.
Suddenly, it hit her—she was playing the role of the other woman perfectly. Bold and unapologetic.
"Sebastian, do you want me to say yes, or no?" she challenged him.
He didn't answer.
It felt like a high-stakes chess match.
He stood practically flush against her, making no move to back away.
She didn't retreat either.
Finally, she broke the silence. "Go ahead. I have a spa and styling appointment this afternoon anyway. With the gala tonight, it wouldn't look good if you tagged along with me."
She said it openly, without a hint of jealousy.
She hummed in agreement.
They checked out of The Penthouse discreetly.
He drove her away.
Her return to the apartment complex was just as low-profile.
He didn't linger, just leaned in and murmured, "Call me if you need anything."
"Okay."
His gaze remained warm as it rested on her.
She didn't look away.
Just as she was about to step out of the car, he pulled her back.
She frowned, but before she could protest, his lips brushed hers in a fleeting, gentle kiss.
"Go on." He let her go.
Her frown deepened as she quickly turned away.
She really felt like she was losing her mind.
When he forced himself on her, she didn't feel suffocated.
