Helena stayed silent.
Then she realized Sebastian was eating the rest of the congee directly with the spoon she had just used.
"Sebastian, couldn't you grab a clean spoon?" she asked, exasperated.
"Is there a problem?" He looked at her, genuinely baffled.
"I used that one!"
"I don't mind."
"What if I'm sick?"
"We kissed yesterday, proving you didn't pass anything to me."
"..."
Ultimately, Helena ran out of energy.
She couldn't out-argue him.
She gave up, and Sebastian finished the porridge.
He finally drawled, "I only brought up one set of silverware. We have to make do."
Helena: "..."
He really knew how to push her buttons.
The atmosphere suddenly felt overwhelmingly intimate.
Sebastian naturally placed his hand on her forehead.
"No fever now. As for the gala tonight..." He looked at her.
Before he could finish, she cut him off. "I'm going."
"Reason?" He frowned. "It really doesn't matter if you go or not, does it?"
"No reason." She remained expressionless.
It didn't matter.
Helena just hated being manipulated by him.
So she opposed him at every turn.
"You just like to cross me?" he asked calmly, raising an eyebrow.
He saw right through her.
Helena didn't reply.
Surprisingly, he didn't press the issue. He simply treated her like someone throwing a tantrum.
He coaxed her.
Until all her anger melted away.
By the time Helena came back to her senses, she realized Sebastian had pinned her against the sofa.
The sofa was spacious.
But with the two of them pressed together, it suddenly felt suffocatingly small.
"What are you looking at?" he asked in a low voice.
But he quickly reclaimed her lips, swallowing whatever else she was about to say.
Suddenly, the atmosphere shifted.
She felt like he was seducing her.
She swallowed hard, nervous.
Her reaction elicited a soft chuckle from him.
"Morning exercise is good for physical and mental health," he said shamelessly.
His words dripped with seductive tension.
The heat between them flared again.
Pinned beneath him, she had no room to resist.
The temperature in the suite seemed to skyrocket.
Outside the window, Victoria Harbour sprawled out, but Helena felt completely dazed.
Her distracted expression reflected in the glass.
Sebastian noticed it too.
"What are you thinking about?" he asked huskily.
Snapping back to reality, she gave him a deadpan look. "I'm thinking Mr. Hayes's skills are just average. It gets boring after a while."
She was pushing her luck, acting like she had nothing left to lose.
"No variety, boring as hell. Anyone else would think it was textbook and by-the-book." She was merciless, giving him zero quarter.
