Sebastian's expression softened slightly as he watched Helena calm down.
"Go back," he ordered coldly.
Instead, Helena collapsed to the floor right in front of him.
The onlookers gasped in shock.
Sebastian remained silent, his gaze heavy as he stared down at her.
"Sebastian, please. Just let me see Wynn. I just need to know he's still alive."
Helena was begging.
She knew exactly what Sebastian wanted—her absolute submission.
After being married for so many years, she knew his temper intimately.
She used to think she could detach herself.
She thought that as long as she delivered this baby, their ties would finally be severed.
But she never anticipated being pushed entirely to the brink of despair like this.
All that was left inside her was a hollow sorrow.
She looked up at him helplessly. "I'm begging you. I just need to know he's safe. Wynn is the only family I have left in this world."
As she spoke, the tears finally spilled over.
They were tears of pure desperation, her eyes pleading for a shred of mercy.
The crowd around them watched in breathless tension.
It felt as though if Sebastian said no, Helena would shatter into a million pieces right there on the floor.
Sebastian stared at her with a heavy, unreadable expression, withholding his answer.
But her words struck a deeply bitter chord within him.
So, Wynn was her only family left.
They hadn't even finalized their divorce, yet she was acting as if they were completely strangers.
Helena had actively ripped him out of her life.
There was a time when he was the most important person in her world.
A time when she would have sacrificed everything for him.
Now, all of that was gone.
At the thought, Sebastian let out a low, humorless scoff.
Sebastian reacted instantly, his arms shooting out to catch her on pure reflex.
But the nearby doctor was even faster, already kneeling beside Helena to check her vitals.
The doctor broke into a cold sweat.
Sebastian's boots stopped just short of them. He didn't take another step.
"Get the patient back to her room, immediately!" the doctor barked.
Orderlies rushed over with a gurney.
They lifted Helena from the floor and placed her on the bed.
The crowd of onlookers was quickly dispersed.
Only then did the doctor turn to Sebastian. "Mr. Hayes, by some miracle, no major damage was done this time. But her condition is incredibly unstable. She absolutely cannot be subjected to any more stress."
The doctor's tone was dead serious.
Sebastian didn't reply right away.
The doctor paused before continuing.
"She has an obsession. If she doesn't see the person she's desperate to see, it's going to consume her. Sooner or later, it will break her," he said bluntly.
