She didn't harbor any delusions or expectations when it came to Sebastian; she was already used to his cruelty. Besides, wasn't his whole goal to force Janetta into begging him? "Yes, sir," Arthur quickly bowed his head.

"Are you really not going to talk to me?" she asked one last time, clinging to a shred of hope.

"Aren't you afraid you'll regret this?" she pressed.

Still, he didn't turn around. He and Helena disappeared around the corner of the staircase.
