Nelson let out a cold scoff, completely ignoring Julian as he stepped straight into the adjacent private dining room.
The soundproofing in this restaurant was immaculate.
He sat down lazily, but his mind was clearly anywhere but on the menu.
Julian assumed Juniper was joining them, but after ten minutes, the appetizers had arrived and the door remained firmly shut.
Something was off. Seriously off. There was no way Nelson had actually invited them just to eat.
Juniper had to be in one of the other rooms.
He glanced at Nelson, who was staring blankly at the table, absentmindedly flicking his expensive lighter open and shut.
The food was in front of him, but he hadn't even looked at it. His mind was miles away.
A moment later, Nelson casually flagged down a passing waitress. "When you serve the next course to the room next door, spill the soup on the woman."
The waitress froze. She knew that the people dining in these VIP rooms were incredibly powerful, and Nelson was literally the top boss.
When he had arrived earlier, the floor manager had explicitly warned the staff to accommodate his every whim without question.
But this demand was just...
She didn't dare refuse, forcing herself to nod nervously.
Nelson stood up immediately, tossing a glance at Julian and Miles. "Enjoy the food."
Julian wore a look of absolute vindication. *I knew it.*
Nelson walked down the hall and leaned against the wall near the restrooms, waiting for Juniper to fall right into his trap.
Five minutes later, Juniper emerged from her room. Leaning heavily on her crutch, she had barely taken a step toward the restroom when a massive force violently yanked her inside.
Her crutch clattered to the floor as she crashed hard against Nelson's chest.
*Bang!*
The heavy bathroom door slammed shut and locked in an instant. Nelson's hands clamped around her waist, his mouth crashing down on hers in a punishing, aggressive kiss.
A jolt of panic shot through her. She pounded her fists against his shoulders and bit down hard on his lip.
He didn't even flinch. His hand slid to the small of her back, crushing her closer to his body.
"Nelson!"
She furiously wrenched her face away, but his fingers immediately caught her jaw, forcing her to look at him.
