Nelson pinned both of her wrists together and turned to Lydia. "You go first."
"Nelson, don't bully her again."
"Which one of your damn eyes sees me bullying her right now!"
He cursed, his voice actually shaking slightly, but his grip on Juniper's wrists never loosened.
The smug satisfaction in Lydia's eyes slowly faded. Whenever Juniper was involved, Nelson completely lost his grip on reality.
It was as if Juniper was the master switch to his sanity. Whenever she was around, he short-circuited.
Even though Nelson was technically taking Lydia's side and defending her, Lydia suddenly felt entirely excluded.
It was as if there was an invisible barrier around the two of them that no one else could ever breach.
But there was nothing she could say, especially since Nelson was clearly running out of patience.
She had no choice but to leave.
The moment she turned around, her eyes turned cold and calculating.
With her wrists still trapped in his grip, Juniper bent down and bit his hand, biting down so hard she tasted blood.
He didn't let go.
She shifted her angle and bit his wrist, clamping down until her jaw ached and the metallic taste of blood filled her mouth.
He still didn't let go.
Her eyes were completely red. She looked like she wanted to rip his throat out.
The surrounding area had already been cleared. The few onlookers who had started gathering were quickly ushered away by Julian's security team.
The hallway fell dead silent, leaving only the two of them.
