He Didn’t Kidnap Me. Not Exactly novel Chapter 52

Chapter 52

(Daisy’s POV}

For a moment, I thought I was imagining it.

Not in a dramatic, “I’ve lost my grip on reality” kind of way. Just a simple, hopeful kind of delusion- the kind where your brain sees, something it doesn’t like and immediately tries to correct it.

That’s not him.

That cannot be him.

Except… it was. I couldn’t deny the physicality.

I stood there, right at the edge of the crowd, watching as the distance between us disappear, one step at a time.

Around me, people were reacting like something out of a movie had just walked into real life. Girls squealing. Phones up. Voices overlapping.

“Oh my God, that’s actually him…”

“Take a picture!”

“He’s stunning.”

I didn’t move.

I didn’t even blink properly.

Because while they were seeing a new student, something exciting, something worth streaking about, I was seeing captivity.

A deal I didn’t understand and a young man who had told me, very calmly, that I didn’t get to leave his world just because I wanted

And now he was here.

Not somewhere far away or in some unreachable part of the city.

Here.

My school. My space. My… life.

“No,” I whispered under my breath, shaking my head slightly. “No, this is not happening. It’s not real.”

But it was.

And the worst part?

He was getting closer.

He wasn’t looking at me or searching. He was just walking forward like the entire place belonged to him. Which, judging by the way people were reacting, it practically did in this moment.

My chest tightened as my eyes tracked him without permission, every step he took hitting like something heavy and final. Then the

memory slid in again, quiet but sharp.

“You will see me soon.”

I swallowed.

“That’s not what you meant,” I muttered. “That cannot be what you meant.”

I resolved this in my mind but he didn’t stop eating up the distance between us. He soon got closer and something in me snapped.
