He Didn’t Kidnap Me. Not Exactly novel Chapter 254

Chapter 254

A hoarse voice finally answered. “Not really.”

Nancy frowned, wondering if Vance was sick.

“May I come in?”

“Mmm . ”

Inside, she was surprised to find him still in bed.

“Sir, are you unwell?”

“Water.”

He hadn’t had any water since he came back. Now his throat was burning like fire.

“Okay, hold on.”

She had Cecilia get some water, took the glass, and reminded Cecilia not to touch anything before limping back into the bedroom.

Vance struggled to get up. The water went down his sore throat, causing him immense pain.

Nancy noticed his flushed face and knew from experience it was a fever. She grabbed the thermometer, and it showed 103.1 degrees.

After he lay back down, she spoke gently. “Sir, that’s a high fever. You should go to the hospital.”

He shook his head, refusing every suggestion–even a clinic visit.

Worried, Nancy dug through the medicine cabinet. She had raised Cecilia and cared for Rebecca for five years, so she knew the basics and found the right pills.
